This is not a QQ thread. I won’t be saying Anet killed my favorite build, that we aren’t viable, and I sure as hell won’t be deleting my decked out bunker ranger. I just can’t play him for the time being, it’s just painful. This latest patch wasn’t what killed it for me, it was just the last straw.
I will only get on this guy if we need immediate help in WvW.
We have zero direction as a class, and it’s becoming clear we are an afterthought to the devs. The quickness nerf is understandable when you look at overall balance, but you completely nuked a main ranger aspect with absolutely nothing done to compensate(no, a 1 sec buff and stun breaker on QZ doesn’t make up for a 50% reduction). The GS buffs were nice, its certainly better now but let’s not pretend its a game changer.
I can still play my ranger, and still be good at it. The problem is that I can be a substantially better if I use a different class. I’ve defended this class since the beginning, I was so excited to see the direction we were heading with this patch. What I got for my patience and dedication was a single weapon set minor buff, and class wide changing nerfs. The engineer basically got the attention we’ve been pleading for, and frankly I’m done waiting. Spirits are an absolute joke, name one other classes main aspects that is so utterly useless? Its been broken beyond belief for months, and we haven’t even seen an attempt to improve the situation. I don’t expect perfection, I know things take time, but spirits are a massive failure for which there are no legit excuses.
Most of the pet specific slot skills are bugged and/or broken entirely.
You meganerfed EB, again with nothing to compensate
You removed the Guarding pets up walls trick, with nothing to compensate. Mesmer clones can go up and down walls seamlessly, but my friggin EAGLE can’t fly up or down 15 feet? Right.
My pet(you know the one who does 40ish% of my damage) cannot hit a moving target reliably.
I’m done torturing myself. I’m done defending this class, because outside of sPvP we are extremely underpowered. Why even make the class in the first place if you have zero intentions of maintaining it?
Show me that even one single dev plays this class regularly in WvW, and I will pick my ranger right back up and play again. Until then I will play literally any other class, because this one isn’t worth it until you prove that you even A) understand the class and
care about fixing it.
