The Ultimate "Bearbow" support build

Prysin no, what have you done? :-O
Thank you Prysin, I will definitely try this one…it is quite…uncommon and…reasonable. I haven`t seen many rangers with bears in the game. I will give a shot.
At PVP rank 78 I feel I’ve hit a real plateau with builds but this looks like just what I need to break into the upper competitive echelons. Thanks for posting this.
I think its worth highlighting in big bold letters that this build is 100% dependent on your teammates defending you.
You have no stunbreaker, condition removal or armour, one burst from anyone will put you on the floor.
I play S/D thief and Shatter mesmer, and I can see instantly that this build is the perfect target. No way to break basilisks venom? No mobility? No way to escape mesmer Sword2 and even no evades so you’ll take the full 7 clone shatter straight to the face? Honestly, this is the sort of build I dream of fighting against on my thief and mesmer.
So.. yeah. Might be good if you are left at the back to attack and support unbothered, but as soon as as someone goes for you (which as we all know, being Rangers, will happen) you are in a world of trouble.

Didnt know thieves could attack people in PvE…. well thieves were always OP so shouldnt come as a surprise really.

I feel he should note that this is not a PvP build and you will be a dead weight playing it like this. Standard spirits provide better PvP support, Regen ranger provides better home point defence and berserker ranger provides more sustain.
You can find me in PvP | I normally answer PMs

Pretty sure he was not exactly serious there

Didnt know you put PvE anywhere in that post.

pls no.. when will the madness end?
The build is marked under ‘PvE mode’ when you get to the site linked in his post.
So I tried your build and you are right, Prysin I was just coming to the AC entrance and people waved on me and specially on my bear. They loved my bear I think. I had to decline several party invitations.
Why Arctodus? Why not Black Bear with Malicious Training? Weakness is still useful in PvE and Enfeebling Roar lasts a very long time with Malicious Training (But really, why not Steady Focus?)
And I am not sure I’d bother with Sic’Em with these pet choices. A +40% modifier on awful damage is just slightly less awful damage. Quickening Zephyr could be used as a personal DPS boost (considering this is geared to hit hard, it would be a lot more effective,) or an emergency stunbreak/res utility. Alternatively, Signet of Renewal would offer basic condition removal for those annoying situations where you might get stuck in combat because you’ve got 20 seconds of lingering cripple, etc. Could also be used in combat to help allies with some conditions.
Have you toyed with the idea of using a Remorseless/Quick Draw build with a Sigil of Frailty and using Rapid Fire and Hunter’s Shot as often as possible for a lot of vuln stacking?
A support build without full ascended Magi or Clerics? What a crappy build.
Also you need to spec for more regen, you can’t heal anyone else if you’re dead yourself.
So i guess bearbow went on a raging rampage, killing and absorbing clerics guard in the process.
The product is a being that tries to heal people with its arrows /scream
Full melee Ranger since August 2012
This build is quite strong. It’s the Arctodus that makes it work though.
Am I good?… I’m good.

I thought Giver’s were the best support armor :|
but its so hard to make so i suggested zerker

Is this a real build? >.>
I like it just because he uses water spirit. I have been looking for an excuse to use that.
Edit: But then I saw he uses assassins…
Blue Dorito-S/Re|Transitor-S/En |Tina Feyspirit-N/M|
Bmoe-A/T|Peter Whatsherface-H/G|Acolyte Rin-H/N
Longbow + Bear + more damage, blast finisher for Healing Spring, fire field, AOE boon support and increased bow damage for the bow lovers.
There are multiple things I would change about this build for it to be ideal, but since we’re designing it around bearbows this seemed viable to me.
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma
hear’s my take on the original build it has the added bonus of “Expertise Training” to make the rendering mauls hurt even more as well as might stacking food (Dry top one would be better but could find it in the list) and sun spirit for more deeps
How come all the Assassin’s gear?
I thought the maths said that Power is better than Ferocity, and Ferocity is better than precision once your crit chance is above 50%.
So in this case, zerker > assassins.
