I’ve been playing my ranger for a lot of time now and it it wasn’t until a humble CoF Path 1 run that I noticed that the Slave Driver boss killed one of my teammates with a WHIP… Then it immediately came to my head… a new weapon for the ranger. It fits PERFECTLY our class, a MID-range weapon that deals high single target damage, cripples and whatnot. I don’t know how you guys feel about this but to me it would be AWESOME to have The Whip as a new ranger weapon. For all those who have creative minds I would really appreciate if you could give the weapon skills from 1 – 5. If we want something from Anet let’s rip it from them!!!!

there was posts about it long time ago. i would totaly love it! should be a good cleave weapon with mass cc.

I’d say it should be more of a condition oriented mainhand weapon. Since sword and greatsword are great power weapons I feel we could use a condi dmg melee weapon.

My suggestion would be:

1 Medium power single stage auto attack that does less dmg than sword or GS auto attack but would apply 3-5 seconds of bleeding. Attack speed should be between sword and GS.

2 Powerful whiplash that does higher damage applies 3 stacks of torment that last about 6 seconds with the skill recharge being around 5 seconds

3 600 range pull that also applies a short duration cripple with a recharge of around 15-20 seconds.

These are just my thoughts for having a mainhand melee weapon that doesn’t root you in place with it’s autoattack and gives condition specs a nice alternative to the mainhand axe.
