Im finishing my ascended gear on my power ranger, where I want to be able to dish out as much damage as possible on LB/GS (WvW/semi PvE).
Have anyone given it some thought of whether one should get a few pieces of assassin gear (now that theyve made precision stand out more on it) just to boost our crit ? Im sitting on 50 atm with pure zerker, should I push it higher with precision (counting fury) or is it better to just go for 50% and focus on the power stat?

Edit: Maybe I could have 2 sin armors on main parts that gives prec as highest stat?

I’d guess if you aim to have 100% crit chance, the aim would be between 55-65%, depending on how impactful the diminishing returns are and whether banner of discipline is a available. That may seem low, but with spotter and banner of discipline providing 320 extra precision, that’s up to 15% bonus crit chance. Assuming constant fury (which we can assume regardless of game mode) we’d have a flat constant 20% and to ensure our skirmishing grandmaster minor remains impactful, we should assume another constant 10% extra crit chance. That totals to 45% bonus chance to crit.

However, as I mentioned precision seems to have diminishing returns and more importantly we have the auto-crits from remorseless. I don’t know exactly what kind of power build you’re running or what game mode you’re playing, but when your base crit chance is nearly 50% and you have a plethora of guaranteed crits, I’d say it’s more important to maximise your crit damage with full Zerker gear.

Go full zerker. There are many ways to get a guaranteed crit and/or more precision.

Opening strike

Fury
Spotter
+10% flanking crits trait
Sigil of accuracy
Sigil of perception
Precise infusions
Banner of discipline
Food
Utility
Runes of the ranger

Also thief is medium armor so if you wanna go thief you will have a good armor and they too got 100% crit trait from stealth, +% crit traits and precision signet.

Engies as well got %crit chance traits so all three medium professions can benefit about the same from one armour set with scholar runes if you’re going strictly PvE or some other rune if you’re aiming for mainly WvW.
