The ranger class has been dormant for quite some time now. With the buff to longbow, we do more damage then ever! The new healing skill that procs every Wednesday when it’s raining, while the main heal is 5k (couldn’t be better) gives us the ability to tank more than ever. With the ability to not only tank, but share it and do the most damage of any class. Rise my fellow rangers, RISE and bring forth the best class in this game!

i beat down 3 lb rangers solo in wvw with my gs berserker ranger. ranger is still kittening easy to kill.

It’s really funny when playing my ranger, if I notice a LB ranger, I target them first knowing they will die fast.

LB Rangers may die fast, but they do remarkable damage while they are alive. If they can just learn how to mitigate what damage they take they may actually be able to out damage most of the other variants of the Ranger in the game at the moment.

TBH I haven’t even logged in to see what the Wintersday release is like, let alone to see what they have done to my Ranger………….

i was actualy considering switching my axe off/horn to a GS to have some physical mode as well to run my beast mastery spec because im traited for skirmish and gain perma fury anyway

Only 2 things I have issues with on my LB ranger is meditate guardians (so… Many…. Teleports…) and the occasional thief, except with the thief it really comes down to who gets the first shot off.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the NPC Risen versions of us are kitten and have none of the problems we have.

Sword root? Pfft, Risen Ranger’s sword roots you!

The shortbow and greatsword aren’t as good as they used to be? Zhaitan has granted Risen Ranger the beta shortbow and greatsword.

Pets are broken? Risen Ranger’s pets can be summoned, stowed, or swapped every 20 seconds, and can also evade attacks.

Spirits are too passive/weak? Risen Ranger’s spirit would disagree.

Sorry, but this patch hasn’t done anything for the power build that I run most of the time. It’s going to be the same. I guess if I pvp’d and ran a spirit or condition build it’d be different… but if I did that I’d be in t/spvp and not in PVE. Although, I can’t tell if OP is serious or not… Cause if you’re “tanking” then you’re doing kitten damage because you aren’t running zerker gear. If you are running traits that take advantage of the latest patch to the traits you are doing kitten damage because you are running ranged and not running zerker traits and meleeing. Because of that I can only conclude this thread is directly strictly at the t/spvp crowd because if it is directed at PVE/dungeon running crowd in any way it is laughable at best.

Yeah … I knew it.

PVE power rangers are still hurting. One plus is now at least I can see my pets health in raw numbers as I watch my pet swing wildly and miss then get smacked down in two hits from a boss in a dungeon now..

LB/GS rangers are fine and dandy when permitted to free-cast by your team. theyre hard countered by glassy thieves, mesmers or anything with better mobility. on my bursty meditation guard, i can down a zerker ranger in one skill rotation (JI + ring + mighty blow + sword 3 + smite condis + few autoattacks). if he doesnt have RaO up, he’ll eat the entire burst. whoever i roam with, we train these rangers pretty hard because i know how much deeps LB can do from 1500. they die quick and easy just about every time. long story short, absolutely no reason to run LB/GS over GS shatter mesmer, who has a ton more survivability and can drop more burst more reliably.

i made about 60g by salvaging my ranger’s gear (was close to deleting him but decided to keep him because i believe the profession might be ok after another year of tweaks). easiest 60g i ever made, used it to deck out my guard.

Well guys enjoy it while it lasts,

in my opinion it’s still not good for roaming and my currently build is far better than LB/GS, but still… I was hoping that the developers would care a little bit more of rangers.

We understand you obviously are in favor of this bug…I mean I would be too on my Ranger. The point is that it was an unintended change and we are obligated to fix it. We were just talking and one thing we do want to do with Ranger is find more places to place Fury. A lot of these posts are just erratic emotional responses filled with tons of hyperbole. The Ranger isn’t going to “go back into being useless” because of this fix, because it’s already strong. Sure it has it’s flaws like all classes but it is one of the top classes in PvP and in PvE it is competitive with top burst damage. It’s got better support than many classes and it has probably the best elite in the game. I mean it’s got an 87% participation rate in the 2v2 tournaments that have been happening every weekend. What that means is that one was on every single team in the tournament except one.

Sorry I don’t have more time to chat but things will be getting better for the Ranger in the future. You can count on it.

What he says what I put in bold it is painfully obvious he DOES NOT play a Ranger. At all. If he does he has no idea what he is doing.

Yeah… We aren’t useless he’s right about that, but top in PvE my kitten , there’s a very specific reason I don’t PvE on my ranger anymore and it’s sure as hell not because it’s too much fun or easy….

No, I don’t play warrior, I play staff ele.

They don’t leave us broken out of some malicious intent, they just genuinely don’t know how their own game works in practice.

I’m still waiting to hear their hilarious spin on the performance of pets in WvW zergs.

Never ascribe to malice what can be ascribed to stupidity. That old saw sure as hell describes the ranger ‘balance’ changes each and every time.
