If you had to create a team that only consisted of rangers, what builds would you choose?

Feel free to use any build – condi or power roamers, bm or spirit bunkers, whatever you think best! Try to keep in mind various types of team synergy, clearing conditions with signet of renewal or healing spring might allow a power ranger to run double physical endure and lightning reflexes (or similar, that’s just an example).

Would love to hear your thoughts!

It’s the ‘new’ Ranger. Except with more burning and massive AoE heals and Protection.

Oh wow, I’m pretty impressed we reached the ideal team already. At least have a try, I’m not suggesting this has anything to do with meta – I’m saying most viable 5 man ranger comp.

I could give you for 2 rangers. Which is basically both run meta build, only one switches Vigorous Spirits for Strength of Spirit and one Spotter for whatever. Can be the same that does both, that doesn’t really matter. I’d sooner relog to necro than play a 3rd, 4th or 5th ranger.

That would be the PvE scenario. I think OP was looking for a pvp/wvw roaming team.

1 Celestial Trapper

It would still get wrecked though :|

2x longbow rangers (not 100% glass, maybe 70-80%)
1 mercy rune resbot spirit ranger.
2x sotf condi ranger

1 sotf goes home, 1 mid. Resbot and 2x power three push far at start. Pick up extremely strong duelists to hold points and have power rangers roam like thieves concentrating around resbot’s point. Use the 3x far to get an early kill and prevent a large 4v4 teamfight.

I could see 5x pure glass longbow rangers running around in a group being extremely broken.

Are bunkers like this any use at all? I don’t play bunker guard so I don’t know how it compares, but seems to me that it provides very little team support and your definitely not going to kill anything.

no it wont. the only bunker that would give team support is a spirit ranger.

2 celestial spirit rangers both using traveler runes and have burst damage from the storm spirit active skill (1 as a home bunker and the other one as a team fighter at mid). 1 celestial trapper to help at mid. 2 power rangers who would constantly rotate between nodes.

condi survival is just too selfish to play on conquest mode. all they do is bunker and they won’t be able to kill players fast enough to help their teammates.

no it wont. the only bunker that would give team support is a spirit ranger.

If you swap out the GS for axe/torch and run settler with krait runes you will still have strong regen but you will put out enough damage to drive off most players.

They could each be a different color:
Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Black

At the beginning of each match, the red ranger must shout “Power Rangers, assemble!”
If they ever start losing one of them can shout “We need backup! Call in the Megazord!” and other stuff like that. Any cliche statement can also be used.

A full on spirit team would be, if not the most effective, most interesting, especially in a scenario where they could all stay together. 1 600 health/second from Spirit of Nature alone, now that could make for some very interesting scenarios. Each ranger brings the hyena as well.

Timed properly that would bring 20 spirits and 10 pets in one small location. I would LOVE to see that someday, just for the fun of it!

you are right, spirit range is still the most effective build for rangers on tpvp.
here are the videos i found on you tube of a 5 man spirit ranger group. first video was before the april 2014 nerf and the second was after it:

Somewhere, there is a vod of a 5 ranger team making the Ele God ZOOSE, rage quit Guild Wars for months.

What ever happened to the 5 man ranger team from this forum that entered one of the official tournaments? I think it was that Swedish guy and jcbroe and a few others.
