If Barrage hits 5 people it’ll eat the whole stack of Sharpening Stone, instead of the old each barrage hit would apply 1 stack of sharpening stone (so 5 people would get 5 stacks of bleeds)
I think Anet is secretly following me on this forum screwing my builds intentionally at this point grin

They pretty much to do it to every single AoE skill that could have a conditional “Proc” put on top of it. (Especially DeepWound & Burning procs)

Comboing these two was the only reason I ever even used the skill.
5 stacks of bleeding isn’t that bad but it’s not worth a whole utility on a 36 second (traited) cooldown.
Sharpening stone is garbage.
Horrible skill imo.

If this is the case …. why did they make splitblade give ten bleeds with SS. Doesn’t make sense.
It makes sense Pendleton, the way Barrage works is its 12 hits on 5 targets each.
The first hit will drain all the sharpening stones on the 5 targets.
Just like split blade will drain off 5 charges on all 5 of its hits.
Even if it hits 1 target or a bunch (since its pierces)
Just sucks, because I was using that combo for a Bleeder build.
Ugh, curse you nerfbat!! Barrage is now useless at applications of condis, just like in GW1!!! Yaaaaaaay…
Does anyone know if this nerfed Path of Scars too? That thing used to apply bleed to everyone on the way there AND back and only count as 1

I can only assume this also applies to Piercing arrows, Ricochet and our melee attacks when combined with sharpening stone?
I know Barrage was our most effective use of the skill, but being able to apply a total of 15 bleed stacks from ricochet was pretty cool. I really like builds or strategies that utilize these kinds of interactions.
I’m going to guess that ricochet will use it up as well
So while it was a nice fix with Split Blade, it kitten my poor Barrage and such :o(
The utility skill itself was always a gimmick . Pointless . Totally pointless now

GW1. Basically saying ANet has a storied history of fixing things that would let you use single hits of a skill on multiple targets.
