Ok really I just wanted to throw the first one out there the most.

I’ve been playing since launch and really to still see dungeons and fractals refusing rangers really does.. make my blood boil.

6 is the class mechanic

1. Rangers that rolled their class knowing full well that its core mechanic was a pet, and then go on to whine/QQ endlessly in the hopes of a total redesign of the class into a pet-less long-range sniper class.

2. Rangers that stubbornly refuse to play their class to its inherent strengths in Dungeons or WvW roaming, and then go on to endlessly whine/QQ in the hopes that the class receives a total redesign to suit their own preferred play-style and everyone else be kittened.

yes,yes…..all about ranger are L2P issues, ranger is the best class right now in GW2, ranger dont need better skills or traits or perhaps better synergy,all is a L2P issue.

PD:Pet is broken, now they are better than 1 patch before, but still needing fixes.

I just want to say that some of the coats available are pretty spiffy looking.

I find the medium armor to be a perfect middle ground when it comes to looks. You can easily go from a light, robe-like look resembling that of one of the light armor classes to a heavy-plated gear style, similar to the heavy armor classes.

Losing a 1 v 1.

Oh come on a l2p issue? I’ve played several thousand games of sPvP, I’ve completed every dungeon in the game, I have a full set of ascended armor, and I was kicked from a dungeon party the other day just because I was a ranger. Maybe it’s the stigma that bad rangers have created but if you want to run dungeons fast then reroll warrior.

Here is my Top Five!
1: AutoAim (Miss Miss Obstructed Miss Out of Range Out of Ranger Miss @ 1500)
2: Some base damage value and mischosen-conditions
3: CDs on weapon skills…………….
4: Very little options for no-coat/no-lightarmorlooking of terrible shapes (bigbutt & fat)
5: People who say we QQ when telling facts

1) Other Ranges, I feel like 99% of the rangers i encounter are just…. bad… like the sorta “kitten off i know what i’m doing” when you try to help them bad.
2) My ranged attacks not being skill shots
3) People who think rangers don’t deal damage
4) Not being able to have pets that actually deal condi damage, or a bear that can kitten people up.

Any decent dungeon runner and the more/most advanced speed clear groups run a spotter/frost spirit ranger in their comp. It’s almost essential for any high-level PvE. It’s bad groups and self-proclaimed elitists that will refuse you a spot in party, and chances are their run won’t go smoothly anyway, even without you there. If said bad group were to take you, they’d just end up blaming the ranger anyway. Build some credentials as a player and use them.

Let’s not exaggerate the usefulness of a ranger. The highest possible damage comp is neither the fastest nor the most effecient for speed clearing dungeons. Once you have 25 might/vuln, perma fury and two banners, the remaining damage optimization (Ranger) is trivial. Your strategies and what you do inbetween bosses make a bigger difference than having all the possible buffs you can. Rangers also do have a few mechanical issues that prevent them from being used.

Speed clear/run are a bit of a general term where the definition is going to vary depending on the context and person using it. I just like to think of it as a mindset and playstyle or sometimes use the term “record run” to distinguish between the “types” (PUG "speed runs < Dungeon Guild “normal” (casual run) < Record run) of speed runs (There are people who think that if it’s not a record run, then it’s not a speed run and is a casual run). As of right now, rangers are not viable in record runs where the meta is basically to just stack as many elementalists as you can. I have not checked gwscr that often, but none of the compositions have a ranger in it.

Your basic cookie cuttie cutter speed clear comp is 1 warrior, 2 eles, + 2 utility classes ( thief for stealth, mesmer for portal/reflects, guardian for reflects/stab/aegis, ranger for more buffs, engi…. if you have someone that wants to play it). It does depend a lot on the dungeon you are doing. Personally, I find double ele very overrated for FotM for example. You can make a ranger work in these comps, but I feel it doesn’t benefit the composition that much. Ie. the fractal comp I run most of the time is warrior, guardian, thief, ele, mesmer.

Having said that, you can do a PUG quality speed run with any class as long as you guys are using consumables and maintaining buffs.

These are 3 things I’ve found weird

• There’s no signet with an offensive passive. (Also every other class has at least 5 signets with at least one offensive passive. We only have 4 signets.)
• The bow does not live up to its name.
• Pet variation usefulness, at the end of the day we only toss between a few species.

Thiefs, hate them so much I made my wvw experience all about killing them, what world score?

Seeing every nice thing we have get nerfed away.

Like dual same pets, swapping mid match, pets climbing walls, 50% endurance trait, zephyr’s speed, soth, 1200 range shortbow, shortbow attack speed, quickness nerf, etc…

All the nice things that made fun builds like traps functional have been nerfed in exchange for trash like spirits and new bm builds reliant on stacking regen to survive.

1. Make your own group, the reason that people don’t like rangers is because there are bad rangers that run bear bows in dungeon and only use range attacks when melee does more.

2. I have no idea why people like running this build, but I prefer going in with a greatsword and smashing things.

3. Not gonna lie my pets are not as smart as I want them to be, but it has become better compared to how it was early on.

4. I use a feline and a drake which can take hits and deal damage, but I can agree that they could be a bit sturdier.

5. Yeah even though we are rangers I don’t like using bows since the damage is not amazing and the skills are something I don’t like.

6. I do miss gw1 approach of having us opting to use a pet or not.

7. I like coats, but then again I look like an armored mecha angel.
