This buff to mass qq seems familiar
Probably sooner. This is the cycle of life in this game. Esport$ my kitten .
I hope not; the only reason there’s so much QQing on power ranger is because everyone ignored the power ranger beforehand. None knows hard counters – so what’s the gaming community to do? Like usual, Instead of playing/tweaking to counter the rush of dusted-off-shelved-noob rangers, they QQ/complain.
No, the bat isn’t needed. What’s needed is a look at your tactics for a change when facing power ranger instead of ignoring it.
I’d say its even more than with necros.
-Nerfs that went on at the same time, creating a lot of bitter players.
-People still want to ridicule rangers and when they get killed by one, they complain loudly.
I actually quit playing a necro since it felt over buffed. I dont feel that way with ranger. DPS (mostly single target) is our only real niche, its something we should do best.
alts: Fangyre (Necro), Hardrawk (Ele);

People don’t like drastic changes in meta. Over a year, people got very familiar with most “meta” specs for professions.
It’s like you live in one house for 50 years, but suddenly someone forces you to move to another, 5000 km further.
So they QQ. Over a year, there were almost no rangers in meta, only weak remains of Spirit build. Now profession people ignored makes it’s come back and goes thrught their butts like Hannibal through Alpes with something we were all joking about. Also, thieves got nerfed a little bit, so we’re safer than ever.
It will take time, but people will adjust their builds, value ranged combat more and it will be all right.

I think the main difference is that the WvW forum and the PvP forum are largely ignoring the ranger buffs. The people that play competitively a lot are like “whatever, I can deal with these changes.” All the complaining is coming from people who don’t play ranger but are posting on the ranger forums.
When necro got a ton of buffs, the PvP forums were upset.

You know, it always makes me curious. Why post at X profession’s forums asking for X profession nerf. It’s obvious that people playing X profession will not agree with you.
It’s only effect is pointless arguing…

About the necro update, the Terror trait was fine, but Dhuumfire was bad implemented and later got an even worse nerf.
The current ranger update is fair and just brought up the “weaker” players by a good margin, while the “stronger” players just got some a tune up. It is like the old bull-rush → 100b warriors, it was a nice 1 trick pony that soon lost it magic.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Bottom line, the ranger is now almost on the level of other profs, the buff is new and players don’t know or don’t want to learn how to deal with it. I guess they want to nerf rangers back into obscurity. RF is not even OP, its just fun. Get over it and l2d.
Let’s make it “Casual Friday” errday.
Funny thing is rangers were a great class to begin with. Yes it took practise and management but we were already good. Now we are buffed to be equal to other classes, and they are complaining and QQ because they dont like the underdog and now they need to dodge, block and think about more defensive, strategic play. Hell maybe its time for people to stop going full zerker
Few things wrong with your statements:
1. Terror has been in the game since early beta weekends. The trait actually got nerfed in the Dhuumfire patch by moving up to master tier from Adept.
2. No Vulnerability applications on Necro have seen any nerfs at all since launch.
3. Terror damage was reduced by 17%, not half.

I agree in parts
Rangers:
- Was a good pvp class but not that good to be among tournament level meta, spirit and trapper builds was good at best, not great.
- Good WvW solo roamer, but there was better options out there.
- Had 1 skill (Frost Spirit) and 1 trait (Spotter) that was useful in dungeons, and now FS was nerfed to oblivion and the RF buff barely compensate that, we got a self damage boost but we lost the ability to rise the party damage.
- WvW zerg rangers were plain terrible, not a single positive thing, even the water field requires the ranger to be in the middle and if you are tank enough to survive you aren’t causing enough damage, if you are causing damage you aren’t tank enough to survive for long, at least now rangers can actually do something, we are still far from be good in zergs, we just rose from useless to bad ~ mediocre.
- Open world PvE … is any class bad at this?
Resuming, we were never a GREAT class, great players was good at most, and the average made the class look bad, now we have the deserved tools to compete closely to the other classes without the need of “leet skillz”

Lesson learned here is to never balance games around QQ’ers. The meta is to whine until you get your way!
As for the necromancer class, well, dhumfire was something nobody really wanted and balancing around that really ruined the class as everything was nerfed with the assumption that you HAD to take it (for condi builds) including stuff that was not used by condi builds.
Ranger will most likely be nerfed. If they do it in the bad way (like they did with necro) would be to nerf signets either by increasing cooldowns or reducing effects, which will make LB rangers even more reliant on that burst. :S I expect QZ to be the first victim and they will completely ignore the fact that other builds use QZ.
It’s just like how they nerfed blinding powder for thief. They just had d/p in mind because they felt it was too good on d/p, yet ignoring the negative effects on s/p and p/p.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
