Guild Wars 2

So I decided to make my ranger a condi ranger, got full viper’s ascended armor/weapons. Working on the malign infusions. Got the exotic trinkets (I’ll work towards ascended sometime not raiding yet) I’m currently running superior rune of the Berserker and I finished my set of night mare/ trapper runes but I haven’t equipped them yet.

So. Berserker runes

1): +25 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(2): +35 Power.png Power
(3): +50 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(4): +65 Power.png Power
(5): +100 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(6): +5% Damage and +5% Condition Damage.

Nightmare / trapper runes

(1): +25 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(2): +5% Condition Duration.png Condition Duration
(3): +50 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(4): +10% Condition Duration.png Condition Duration

(1): +25 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(2): The Condition Duration.png duration of conditions you apply last 10% longer.

with Berserker runes you have 175 condi damage and 100 power plus 5% dmg and 5% condi damage.

with the meta nightmare /trapper you have 100 condi damage and 25% condi duration.

Is Berserker still a good alternative and does the extra 75 condi damage with 5% added make up for the lack of condi duration? Or is the condi duration required to keep stacks up ultimately making the damage higher.

Do you have any other rune sets that work well on a condi build?

( I know the rangers biggest condi problem is there lack of condi duration)

in PvE duration can provide more dps than pure condition damage even with the added 5%. I’d still run with the nightmare/trapper over berserkers, I need to get 1 more nightmare rune myself to complete my set.

Yea I did some testing now that my set is done and it did come out to be better then the Berserkers set.
