Guild Wars 2

I am currently wearing/using the following:

Helm – Valkyrie
Shoulder – Knights
Coat – Valkyrie
Legs – Valkyrie
Gloves – Knights
Boots – Knights

Rings – Knights & Valkyrie
Accessory’s – Knights & Valkyrie
Amulet – Knights

Weps: Berserker Longbow (w/ superior sigil of strength) & Berserker GS (w/ sup. sigil of bloodlust)

I currently have superior rune of ranger on my coat, and sup. rune of dolyak on legs (working toward getting this on the other pieces also to increase toughness and vit).

What I am unsure about is if i have spent my trait points wisely? I’m not very good at making decisions on this and have taken a few posts from others builds to help guide me. I am happy with my armour and weapon choice as i have worked hard to be able to craft and wear full exotics but am happy to make alterations to trait allocation.

Currently i’m working on zone completion for 100% map (atm am in lower zones so naturally overpower everything) but I do run dungeons occasionally as i have a long term goal of fulfilling the requirements for a legendary.

I will be greatful for any help/suggestions on this and thank you for taking your time reading this, let me know if you have any questions (i have tried to be as detailed as possible :P)

Why are you using traps with no trap specs?

Why are you using a greatsword?

I personally really like the GS & I thought the traps did suitable damage. This is why I posted for some advice because as I said, i’m not good with allocating trait points..

That’s fine I didn’t mean it to be rude. I was just curious if there was a thought process behind it. Sorry if it came across wrong. Never let any one critique you with out knowing your thought process first. What may work better or worse ma not always be the same for everyone and it is easier to give advice if someone knows why you wanted to do what you did.

for wvwvw, i like it because it increases survivability more so than a a longbow. but i carry different weapons on me should certain weapons be better for certain situations (sword, gs, longbow, wh, axe, sb).

even though i’m not OP (in this case opening poster) i still use traps because of combo fields and more/different condition damage, and i actually traited into pet speed by 30% so that it’s slightly harder for enemies to kite the pet. i prefer the trap lay down where i’m standing because i like to stand in the center of it to get 100% combo-field/melee capabilities. i really dislike having to click anywhere and simple just use mouse and keyboard for most of my controls.

the only thing i don’t like about your build is the considerable lack of “oh kitten” buttons other than greatsword 4

@crebosh i didn’t think you were being rude at all, i just like following up my longbow with the GS and that is when i use the traps etc. i would agree with luriyu that the traps are good for combo fields and i feel as though the cond. damage helps me.

does anyone have suggestions as to changes to my trait allocation that would be better suited for my armour/weapon choices? i feel that my toughness/vitality is rather low (however am hoping this will be improved through dolyak runes)

It really depends on what pets you use and what your play style is. I am by no means a pro so take what I say lightly, but I’d personally take at least 5 points out of Marks and put into bm for a pet swap quickness.

i usually rotate between moa (aoe heal one – forget which colour that is), bear or fern hound. i’m not really sure how you would describe my play style to be honest, as i am clearly by no means a pro either haha

traps..traps..traps…thats all i can say. short bow, axe/torch on the other. When you master this, you can cause so much damage you will be surprise the condition damage numbers bouncing out of the head of the enemy. And you will be cycling through your weapon and weapon skills in perfect timing. Imagine my bleed is 50+ (this number is bouncing of like crazy), fire trap is 120+, poison trap is 75+, flame torch is 200+ and sometimes including bonfire of another 200+. There are so much numbers boucing off the guys head that i am not even sure which is which to be honest…lol. There is never a split second where the enemy isnt getting any damage from me. And sometimes, i just start on the next enemy because i know my condition damage will kill him.
