Q:
Thoughts on new flame armor?
It’s the WvW armor with a little fire detail… It’s stupid. I honestly think that Anet lacks good visual armor for medium. It’s all about heavy and light…

Even the light and heavy versions of this armour are atrocious …
As for medium, the last thing we need is yet another bloody trench coat …
Dreadful stuff …

This.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew
It is not bad at all, it is just very lackluster, only a set that we had with a flame details we see in many other sets.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Still better than heavy one. Laughable. It’d be better to not release any $$$ armor at all if they hadn’t enough time to do anything even a little bit unique. Reskin with flamy effects. Nobody who’s serious will buy it. Well, maybe apart from T3 reskin, it’s a lot cheaper than original and avalible to all races.

Laziness to the max. I can’t believe they wasted their time with this. Especially for the price. Should have made it some novelty pieces in the fractal to entice those of us who have everything from there to set foot back in.
I keep hoping for a nice set for my ranger, that does not make it look like a pirate or a bandit, or a technology freak… (sight)
But the worst is that they just took basic WvW set and added flames to it? Where is the originality?
The light set is nice for some races, but i think the other two are very underwhelming.
The only part I can see using is the flaming-skull pauldrons. Not worth the 800 gems just for that though. OTOH I would buy the Krytan Armor just for the vest, so I’m probably a hypocrite.

OMG!!! Are they friggin serious. Another trench coat medium armor set. How little imagination do these guys have? There has to be over 90% of medium armor sets consisting of a trench coat combo. The light and heavy armor sets have enough differences between them to show a little thought was put into creating them. But as usual medium armor group gets the shaft in the imagination department.
C’mon Anet, u guys should google leather armor in mmo’s to get a few ideas, hell I don’t care if u rip off a WOW creation just stop with the tench coats already!!!!

First you could be a hobo. Now you can be a hobo on fire!!!
There is a reason my Sylvari Ranger is going to be wearing Cultural Armor for it’s entire career. Almost all the other Medium Armor in the game looks like a bad attempt to make the Ranger into some kind of Punk or Goth type character.
Ranger’s aren’t supposed to look like this
They’re supposed to look like THIS
And the closest I can get to the latter in this game is the Sylvari Cultural Armor… and even that is a stretch.
By the way, the second image is from Robin Hood (2010). While perhaps not one of the most historically accurate portrayals of the Robin Hood Mythology, it does appear to at least get the costuming right. That is what Robin of Langley would have worn while in the wilderness in order to blend in with his surroundings.
And as any fan of history would know, Robin of Langley is the Trope Codifier of the Ranger Class.

Not enough buckles and/or zippers.
The model for that one (wvw medium set) looks great in brown tones on a charr, for a pretty cool old west look (disabling the fugly shoulders though). My charr engie is sporting it, and with a rifle in hand it looks epic.
Didn’t really find many other good uses for it, though the hat is nice and could be used with other sets i guess. Not convinced the fire particles make that much of a change.
Save the Bell Choir activity!
Sort of sad that Anet won’t go back to GW1 and take some of the Assassin (thief), Ranger, and even Dervish armour skins and ported them over….
