I’m wondering how Bonfire and Throw Torch will work, if they will be updated, because if they change the damage of burning because it will stack, that will pretty much kill our Torch skills, unless they increase the amount of stacks on Throw Torch and or the durations on Bonfire. I really hope they look at this because otherwise the Torch is getting a massive nerf.

I assume this is PVP related? Don’t know anyone that runs torch outside of tagging mobs much less cares if it is nerfed or not. Hell, I have a ascended torch but haven’t made it since I made it. Made it, pretty much, just to have it.

it might be worth while if your build for shout+regen/swiftness and SotF with survival Utilities now as sharpening stone is built into SoTF only makes the off-hand torch more appealing, using the stacked burns and off set of Axe+dagger , Sword + torch to stack up poison with Sigil of doom for 3 stacks on rotation quickly bursts the target to 75% hp even if he does cleanse , triggers sharpening stones and repeat.

new trait set ups brings ranger better combat sustain than current due to us have no good sustain traits in adpet options (not counter Natures vigour the rest are ether personal sustain or nearly too situational to use competitively)

if burning changes to match other skills or the new methord of applying burning Bonfire will add pulses of burning at per intervals of 1sec , if you reach it for 1.5secs burn the next one will proc = 2 stacks >throw torch+ a projectile = 4 stacks .

i don’t think they will nurf or change or balance the bonfires burning too much proberly lowered by 15-25% to make up for the stacked damage over the 2 stack tempory for 0.5-1sec so it maintains good damage for 2-3 stacks rather than just the one.

new windoes open im looking forward to HoT.

I imagine they will scale the damage to be equal to what it is now. That is a buff, as you could potentially bonfire + leap + throw torch for some good stacks.

I do sense a new meta with burning coming (in general) as intensity is much, much better than duration. Intensity means it will hit harder and immediate, where right now duration just prolongs things and allows for fast cleanses.

Also not sure how they’ll balance the stacks because in the dragonhunter video it was ticking for 4.5k at 6 stacks which is completely ridiculous. With burning stacks like that why even bother stacking 25 stacks of bleeding…

Bristleback can’t hit anything? Let’s fix the HP bug instead.

i know they are limited but there’s no reason that 6 stacks of burning should be hitting twice as much as 25 stacks of bleeding when 25 stacks of bleeding is inifnitely more difficult to get and maintain.

And even if they are more limited it is still crazy that only 4 stacks of burning STILL does more dmg than 25 stacks of bleeding AND in the video he also got like 15 stacks of bleeding.

In its current state this is completely broken.

Back to the original question, it seems like the new burns are maybe between 1/2 and 1/3 what they were before in terms of damage (I’m guessing based on other videos). So if that’s the case, it seems likely that torch will do something like 2 stacks for six seconds.

I think a lot is still being worked on in terms of balancing condition damage. For the DragonHunter, the bleed stacks are pretty tricky to get on and keep on against another player. Those really high number of hits seem unlikely in real-world cases, and players will cleanse.

It is merely speculation (I think) that burning damage will change due to the fact that it will be stacking after the patch, but since it can stack up to 6 times and burning can do upwards of 850 damage per second right now, surely they cannot allow it to do the same damage, since that will be over 5000 damage per second with 6 stacks, something a DH will be able to do pretty easy. So, if that is the case and they do nerf the damage per stack, that will decimate our Torch, Flame Trap and a lot of other burning skills.

Dunno. Engi has tons of burn sources aswell, so does ele.

They did the testing in the Ready Up inside the mists PvP area.
