Trapper good for stronghold defense?
I think the pew pew build will have great advantage in Stronghold because of how many npcs you have to deal with.
Ranger can kill npcs efficiently at extremely long distance, which would be beneficial in taking down guards and other mercenaries.
Unless they introduce the Rune of the Trapper to PvP, I fear other existing builds will still overshadow the trapper ranger. Seeing as channeling of supplies can only interrupted by a CC (knockback, stun, though immobilize seems to count too), a full on trapper isn’t going to be of more use for this than say a longbow ranger. Spike trap, when traited, applies a one second immobilize, but that’s still on a longer cooldown than say PBS on the longbow.
Trapper might find a role on the defence lane to help kill attacking NPC’s with the aoe’s of the traps, but the long cooldowns might make them weaker than a staff ele. However, the Druid specialization with the staff might make for a good aoe weapon to help support a trapper build, probably best combined with x/torch as its second set.
