Hi guys.

I’ve fallen in love with the ability to stealth and be granted a well need speed boost playing my beloved ranger. I’m a little unsure weather this ‘speed boost’ ie super speed 100% speed increase is working for our class?

If I am in combat the effect can be quite noticeable. On the other hand, out of combat doesn’t seem to give the described effect.
I can drop 3 traps for a total of 9 seconds in super speed, which in theory should send me flying ahead of the pack. Yet I can run along side another friendly player who has a 33% speed buff and we are neck and neck until my super speed wears off.

I’d love some feed back from others as to your experience with this. It may very well be that there is a mechanic that I just don’t know about or I have hit some sort of speed cap at 33%. Either way I’d value your input. Go rangers!

My original question was answered and thank you. Although I have discovered a new problem. When you lay 3 traps one after the other you gain 9 seconds of stealth however super speed is not stacking like it should and runs out before stealth finishes?! This has to be a bug? Anyone else can confirm this? Try it!

Move speed hard caps at 133% of out of combat speed (294 * 1.33 = 391).

When you go into combat your move speed decreases (210) so the trapper rune super speed puts you back up to the 133% out of combat speed (391) which is why you notice it. Swiftness makes you move 33% faster than the base in combat speed (279).

When you are out of combat it’s basically just swiftness (391) though.

Oh great. That makes perfect sense.
So out of combat I’m hard capped, as if I had 33% swiftness (which would be max speed). In combat I get bumped back up to max speed which is defentely a great increase, amazing!

How about the fact that our pets don’t stealth at all and give us away immediately?

Not keeping all IT jobs here is a major reason IT is so bad HERE. 33y IT 10y IT Security

No, pets don’t stealth…I wish they did.

However, they don’t really give you away per say because they don’t know which way you are going to move. I mean yes, you are right your pet is there. But on the other hand you can bait and switch – change directions.

Also you get sort of smart while you play builds with trapper runes in that you toss a trap to stealth up on the target. I’ve done this several times doing dailies whereas people are capping a ruin or flipping a camp thinking they are safe, or so focused on the target, that they don’t know what is going on around them. So I’ll stow the pet, toss a trap, and bingo – I R STEALTH

Toss an other to extend the duration, toss entangle, or swap weapons to CC, then start the dance. Lots of options really. Can also toss a trap and then finish move, etc.

Main – Laaz Rocket – Guardian (Ehmry Bay)
Johnny Johnny – Ranger (Ehmry Bay)
Hárvey Wallbanger – Alt Warrior (Ehmry Bay)

Ranger speed isn’t stacking with others or on themselves a LOT.

Yes this would be nice although it is not expressed in the tool tip so it’s not something I’d expect to be working. I do hide my pet when out of combat to sneak up on unsuspecting targets.
