Traps...
Hi
Assuming you want a build for PvE. Here is my suggestion: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAnfVjEqQ7K2tCmrAVLWYEMmCwlLAA3Uvqd1mxVtKEUy0OD-TpRAAB6XGwgDBQP7PEwJAAgjAQ0PAAA
It is done in PvP editor mode but is intended for PvE.
Some points on traits:
-Sharpened Edges or Trappers Expertise? If you want to use shortbow more than traps then Sharpened Edges is better. Trappers Expertise ads substantial damage to traps so it is a must if you plan to use many traps. If you don’t want to run with so many traps, you could take some survival skills like sharpening stone.
-Quick Draw or Light on Your Feet? Depends on playstyle I guess. Personally use Quick Draw for Bonfire. But If you like shortbow then you could go Light on Your Feet, and +10% condi duration on Dodge is nice too.
If you don’t have druid: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAnfVjEqQ7K2tCmrAVLGKEqPBy9AgngS/B64dYfhSm2ZA-TpRAABBcCAi+BA0z+DGcIA0vMAAHBAA
Well anyway, those are what I would probably run with shortbow and axe/torch.

For PvP try something like that.
for pvp i’m actually using axe/torch and LONGBOW, crazy right?
not as crazy as you think!
combined with Ancient Seed’s it gives you a nice short cooldown knockback which comes with 5 stacks of bleed and a loooong immob, you also get the stealth from 3 for sticky situations
sigil wise i run Bursting (a no-brainer) and smoldering (also pretty easy choice with flametrap and torch making up a large part of your damage.)
