1. Post in the ranger forum.
2. Learn to not click your skills.
3. Try to dodge specific things and not dodge randomly.
4. Only use skills when you need them, you often use SoR and LR when you could just get away with SoR and a dodge.
5. Maybe not play hot join.
6. Maybe change your build: war horn, shortbow, sharpening stone, and the bear, are generally seen as not the best options for ranger.

After these, you can start to do more next level things like learn to control your pet, then they become much more valuable and you can even learn to combo with them.

Pretty much this on everything but number 6, specifically the part about the shortbow, the shortbow is pretty beast in a condi build, at least it’s what i run on my condi ranger, i run axe/dagger & shortbow and it’s insanely effective.

Shortbow is pretty kitten beast for Condi Ranger. I run Shortbow and Axe/Torch on mine.

Regarding utility skills, I use Lightning Reflexes, Signet of Stone and Signet of Renewal. Signet of Stone always comes in handy when you’re really close to getting your healing skill up again or when you get focused right at the beginning of a fight, while you’re still building your condis up and making your opponent take a more defensive approach. Signet of Renewal is just awesome when you get a lot of condis on yourself, just send them to your beloved pet.

For healing skill, I tend to use Healing Spring. Condi removal!!! Also, a group heal, group condi removal, group regen and its field can be used to augment healing greatly through blasts or leaps. You’re not meant to be fighting and roaming on sPvP anyway, so I just go to the point I mean to defend/conquer, drop it there and hold my ground while it’s active.

Pet-wise, I take Wolf/Hound or Wolf/Moa. Wolf’s got fear and a knockdown, pretty kitten. Hound’s got immobilize and the knockdown as well. I sometimes choose Moa because it has an AoE heal which’s saved my kitten quite a few times, and also F2 AoE Daze.

Now to things I don’t do: I don’t take Shared Anguish as a trait on Wilderness Survival. It’s way too long a cooldown (90 seconds). Instead, I just pop Lightning Reflexes or even Signet of Renewal when I need to get up and away quickly. For that trait spot, I do Vigorous Renewal (always good having dodges available).
Hide In Plain Sight is useful because your opponent loses its target on you when you go into stealth. But you can’t move or you’ll lose that stealth. So I just pick Wilderness Knowledge to reduce cooldowns on both my Signets (if I used only one signet, I’d go with HIPS though).

I could go on a lot longer, but it’d get too specific. So if you wanna know anything else, just ask away and I’ll help if I can.

This is the build i normally run.

You can substitute the 2 in Marksman ship to go for 2 in skirmishing, picking up Sharpened edges and grabbing a Rabid Amulet instead of a Settlers.

The final trait in wilderness survival can either be Empathic Bond or Poison Master, depending on how you want to play, poison master if you’re up against a team/players with not much condi cleanse in order to be extra aggressive, or empathic bond for the condi removal, it’s really up to you.

For the second pet, you can pretty much go for whatever works for you, i normally run a drake hound or spider.

It’s incredibly sturdy and puts out a lot of damage, especially if you get up close when you use your elite and throw down an axe #2, weapon swap while standing on the enemy and throw a shortbow #2 and #4, it just unloads a crap ton of bleeds.
