I’m curious to know from a veterans point of view, what the difference between these two builds are in terms of gear/and traits and how the advantages will play out in WvW.

The following build is the one that I am running

6 5 3 Power Ranger. I’m using great sword for now. It has better recharge on signets, about 800 more toughness due to 3 pieces of knights gear and knights ascended trinkets.

The next build is a guild recommended build from a friend of mine. Looks solid. Biggest difference I see other than pets, is a extra regen and assassins gear which add’s more crit. It is also much lighter on toughness.

The koroshi build looks more solo specific and the other build looks to be more for raiding in WvW.

Well what type of play will you be doing with your Ranger? Solo Roaming, Havoc (small group roaming), Zerg busting, GvG, or ZvZ?

Roaming Sniper is exactly what the name implies. Solo Roaming in WvW, and Id play this or something very similar is I had any inclination to play a Longbow as a solo roamer.

The other build looks more like a larger scale combat oriented build (the telltale Sigil of Restoration). There are a few things that don’t sit right however.

A very high crit chance with no on crit effects.
- Cond Duration food with no complimentary runes.

It just feels wrong on the surface. Not even taking into account that it’s a Ranger build or that it’s a LB large scale combat spec.

Solo, havoc and zvz.

On my longbow I have the air and fire sigil, would another 8 percent crit make a world of difference to those proccing? It feels like they proc often enough now.

Would the extra healing and health of the second build fair better in solo roaming with much less toughness.

There are going to be different builds for those types of play.

Just some examples.

Correct me if I’m wrong guys but, isn’t it know pointless to have 2 sigils of the same category on a weapon.
i.e. 2 on hit sigils won’t activate , 2 stack sigils won’t activate

They changed it some months ago. Now you can have 2 of everything except for stacking sigils afaik.

Dunno how long ago you played but this was changed forever ago. 2 on hit sigils will stack with each other now, 2 on kill sigils will stack with each other, 1 on hit 1 on kill sigil will stack. Basically every type of sigil have seperate cooldowns now instead of sharing them.

Previously if I had an on hit sigil with cd of 10 sec and a on crit sigil with a cd of 5 sec. The on hit sigil could overwrite the on crit sigil and make them both 10 sec cd and only one would activate at a time. Now both of them will activate any time and have their own cds.
