Q:
Two handed training and staff?
Its a great sword/spreat trait, so I dont think so.
A: currently it does not.
though it should effect staff , just because of the fury and applications of trait lines are very restrictive now when it comes to druid and weapons it does not mix well with marksman/beastmastery or nature magic as having to take nature magic means you can’t take wilderness and if you take naturemagic you can’t use Two-handed training with remoresless due to needing 3 lines to make a effective gs beastmaster combat build.
being able to use
markman with remoresless
beastmastery
druid
this will improve gs/staff and recover some of the lost damage for not being able to use naturemagic with beastmastery and even having to Sacrifice skirmishing for pet damage / loosing the fury / swiftness when it comes to this build set up.
though you just pointed out onther problem the druid suffers when it comes to compatibility with its choice of weapons still being restricted to staff with “weak” synergy to the core ranger.

The problem with that idea is that staff already has a cooldown reduction trait. Allowing two such traits to affect it would not be balanced.

So? You just make 2HT read and work like;
“Two handed weapon attacks have a chance to grant fury on hit. Greatsword and spear damage is increased, and those skills recharge faster.”

“Two handed weapon attacks have a chance to grant fury on hit and 5% extra damage. while weilding a Greatsword and spear those skills recharge faster”
Fury(3seconds) 50% chance (5seconds icd)
due to the beam on staff.

That trait already have a 10 sec CD
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

the point of me suggesting 5 seconds idc is so the beam on staff can Stack Vun easly on Multipul targets once every 5 as it will trigger remorsless AA chain 1 in 5 auto attacks.
if its 10seconds the vun will only effect one target then drop off .
the amount of times Remorelsess needs to proc needs to increase atm its only effective if its used vs 1 target or you’d have to spam fury application to make it useful vs Multpul targets which takes up , wk trait tree , Clarions bond and 3 Survival skills just so you can put 15-25vun(13seconds) on a target, it takes a lot to maintain.
this two handed training should also effect LB as it is also two-handed , the additional application of fury outside of stacking Survival skills would increase its Barrage damage and target Vun sustain.
you could also use it as a source of fury to power , Fortifying bond making Heal as one a Active trigger to Remorseless , so a MM,nature, beastmastery becomes Viable as the only fury choice there is Clarions bond or warhorn.

“Two Handed Training” is literally just a title that you’re all getting hung up on. Let me ask you a question in response to your question; is Staff a Greatsword or Spear? No? Then no it doesn’t work with it. If you’re going to cling onto the title of the trait so dearly, then why doesn’t it work with Shortbow and Longbow? Those are both two handed weapons.

ha no we are looking for changes that will let druid work better with core ranger traits by making more Trait trees Viable for use.
even then it should effect all two-handed weapons .
warroirs have traits for gs and hammer both have damage increases and cooldowns mixed into one trait, so do some of the other classes.
this is one trait that effects one two-handed weapon , you can discount spear that is useless on land.
if two-handed training effected all our two handed weapons it would solve Remoresless reliantness on wilderness knowledge and skirmishing.
it would also allow these weapons to regain the damage % loss after the patch changes to Skirmishing we lost 10% damage on a Core range trait line, in place of 10% crits a -% damage nurf.
No, warriors do not have both their GS and hammer traits mixed into one trait. GS trait is “Forceful Greatsword” and Hammer is in “Merciless Hammer.” I don’t know how much more untrue a statement can be. And even if you weren’t 100% wrong, your argument would only serve as a reason to separate whatever warrior trait that was, as it would be literally the only class trait in the game with that functionality. Every other class in the entire game, all 9 of them (all 10 really since this mythical trait doesn’t really exist at all) don’t have this “all two handed weapons in one” trait.

thats what i ment two traits with damage increases and cooldown reductions , i may have worded that a bit poorly but it still stands that a rangers two handed weapons don’t have any real damage increases outside of LB and Steady focus or natures bounty which is 5% on average if you have those consistant 5 boons.
no bash against warroir , rangers lost Weapon triat functions with the skirmishing flanking strikes change and staff having no Damage boost only grace of land gated behind healing rapidly or consistantly.
if then it should atleast effect the Staff. its not fun having to use a gs/warhorn/clarions bond+ skirmishing to gain a consistant fury for remorsless 25% damage even then we still lost out on the 10% from the old flanking strikes.
its much more apparent on staff where Remoresless is not a choice as other trait lines are a Requirement to make staff work , like skirmishing and nature magic / wilderness.
you forget those other traits on other classes have options for 20% weapon damage increases with easy ways to apply those hard ccs with a hammer ect
those classes get Direct damage inceases to those weapons while a ranger is stuck with gates Remoresless behind a fury wall and 5% extra damage which is reliant on Vun /remoresless to deal any decent damage with gs , Same goes for staff does not have these options.
" just because it does not exist , does not mean it shouldn’t" if its needed to open Viability windows .
and as we lost 10% on flanking we lost net damage which should be compensated .
