Why stop there? Why not compare the lifestyle, choices and social security benefit differences between the baby boomers and us and see who has it better? Why not compare WoW and GW2? Why not compare birds to bees- Oh wait, it doesn’t matter because it’s completely out of context. We are not playing GW1. A number of us haven’t even played GW1 so you’re comparing a nonexistent apple to an orange that we do have right now. It’s people like you that are complacent with compromising to the demands in life, live in staleness and prevent healthy change.

If you want kitten difficulty for yourself, you can make up rules for yourself like ‘win a pvp match 10 times before I get that new pet’ or ‘do 30 push ups before I get that’. Sounds crazy right? But why not? You’re saying things like that should be ok and we should stop whining about it. With things like that you’ll have freedom to do so. Us, with the current situation? We don’t have that choice.
We can play like a kittening God and still get let down because of how the rest of the players act in the map.
There are also number of instances where some players were kicked out the moment the Mouth of Mordremoth was killed and have only 15 minutes to find and roam around the map.
If you think us asking for a different type of difficult method of obtaining a pet that is solely required for each individual to deal with without having to be dependent on any other players is asking for silver platter, you’re having a laugh with your haughty attitude.

It does matter.

It may not matter to you, if you play Ranger like Pokémon (as I am pretty much doing, currently, too!), but it matters to other Rangers.

Just as, if the same thing was happening to other classes and two of their class mechanics were locked behind a map event, many of the people who played those classes would feel it mattered.

We all need to forget that these are pixelated pets, for a sec and just think of them as class mechanic packages, gated behind an often failed map event.

i am having a good laugh at the attacks you are all doing to the people who reply to your whining. having a great laugh at how this ONE pet is holding you back? most of the current builds use dogs for fear/knockdowns for pvp/wvw or Cats/Birds for pve. just work for it and enjoy it when you finally get it..you know soon as you get off the forums and do the event.

Thought we were all dependant on the chains finishing. There is a hp right in the first map that you have to take the pact chopper to the canopy to get. There is one in the south of the city in the 2nd map that you need to wait out the event for/or is locked behind a mastery gate.

To the victors go the spoils. Our pets are no different.

You can walk into the first map with only updraft and get every single point without the completion of an event. You can get into the canopy extremely easy without the chopper.

i am a wvw player i dont want to waste my time in pve watching ppl failing the event again and again and beeing forced to wait and search for a map where an organized party is killing the boss so i can go and get my pet.

Why are u forcing me to play an event over and over again, just to get my pet, this is not nice to your Rangers, and sorry but i am raging right now.

today from 6 am until 2 pm i was trying to get my tiger and e v, but nope no one no map no organisation could do it.

II want to go and play wvw not camp a pve map for an event i dont like to get acces to my class proffesion skills.

No other klass has to do that kind of thing.

I disagree with this thread. I did this event for 3 days just for to get this pet and I finally got it yesterday. It was such a great feeling. I achieved something that I worked really hard for. It reminded me of Gw1 and WoW. I still remember the feeling when I first get my spirit pet with my hunter in WoW. And no they are not just cosmatics in WoW. You guys just want everything in the game instantly. Just try to play the game. Cry for this, cry for that don’t you ever get tired? I will never understand this community…
And please don’t give me the “I’m a WvW player and this is not a cosmetic pet” excuse. This pet is nothing special. You just want it for its skin or you wanna collect pets and you’re giving this “not a cosmatic” excuse. There are much MUCH better pets for WvW. And you can instantly have this pet in pvp. So what do we have here? Pve players. If you’re a pve player and don’t wanna do this, well… why are you even playing an mmorpg?

I agree that gating our pets behind this event is an extremely unfair and ill-considered mechanic—like pretty much everything else with this class. I wish whoever designs this class would stop trying so kitten ed hard to make playing it suck as much as possible but instead make things accessible and fun by applying a modicum of common sense to balance out the sadism. People are already frustrated with the amount of gating in this game and now you gate our pets behind a tediously long event with no guarantee we will get the pet?

You might note other classes are complaining about the presence of rangers who are just there to get the pet.

Thinking about quitting ranger. RANGER remind me to much of Paladins in TBC, AKA World of Warcraft’s first expansion. The mistreatment from the developers and the discrimination from the community was a nightmare that I am just not willing to go through again years later in a new game. Sorry cant do this.

There’s a big difference between pets in GW2.

As for earning the pet, I don’t comment on that, people have different opinions, which is fine, and noones opinion is more “right” than anyone else’s.
I do acknowledge there are issues for mainly wvw players when it comes to the aqusition of pets though.
