Underwater Ranger Heal... needs a NERF!

Do people even enter in the water? Nobody ever chase me when I drop to water, even when it’s 1v2. And I’m not even a ranger.

Some players use it to troll. Basically they fight around it and if things turn they jump in the water knowing few if any will follow. Even if they do a Ranger can simply heal through a downed state even with 3 players wailing on them.

True. That part is annoying. But if they finally fixed the bug where the pet keep reviving the ranger even after you kill it (works out of the water), I don’t think rangers would be a big deal underwater anymore.

How is this any worse than ele’s fighting in front of doors so they can mistform through them when they go down, or thieves/mesmers/engi’s popping stealth and resetting when they get low, or warriors block, invuln, nike away to reset, etc.
WvW is full of dumb kitten like this. You either lock them down so they can’t do it or you work around it.
Also if you have 3 players wailing on the ranger while letting the pet rez him then your group screwed up. There are a ton of underwater cc skills that would have pulled the pet off him so that you could easily finish him off.

Omg. Seriously. Every time people can’t win a fight it’s time to complain. I have issues with almost all classes depending on what I am running. It’s a game with variables of all sorts. Evening out the firepower would just be boring.

I don’t think some people understand what the actual issue is. If the Ranger survives in water until the heal pops up (fairly easy), they will revive barring an extraordinary amount of DPS. By that I mean 5+ players wailing on them and even then no guarantee.
The Mist Form issue has complete counter play but few ever learn it. You can Immobilize them and they cannot go anywhere. That is L2P.

I agree that Lick Wounds is broken under water (not on land) but there are a lot of other broken under water skills as well. Aquatic combat was pretty much shxtcanned by ANet ages ago and Dwayna turns a blind eye to the happenings down there.
Have you ever fought a Trident Necro in the water? The amount of Life Force you can generate if there are multiple targets is insane. It’s nearly equivalent to Lick Wounds except you won’t even get downed.
I wouldn’t be against fixing under water Lick Wounds but in all seriousness? I think it should be pretty low on the list of things to work on. It’s so situational it doesn’t seem worth it to complain about, no offense.

All condis are removed when the target goes down. An ele expecting to be downed will be spamming 2 to turn to mistform as soon he dies. Sure, there is a counterplay, but it’s pretty bad and only someone dumb will sit downed instead of mist form right away if he’s close to a tower

So, 5 players are attacking one solo ranger, they choose to follow them into water because……
Then they come here and complain that the ranger has maybe capped all the water keeps?
Please reconsider.
I suggest that any kill where one single player does less than 80% of the damage to the dying player are not recorded as kills.
I also suggest that any kills where 25 or more players tag the same player are removed from war scores.

Mist Form is a cantrip. Vapor Form is a downed skill. Mist Form does not remove conditions.
Vapor Form does have counter play.

I said that you lose all condis when you go downed, not when you use vapor form. Please re-read. Also I never see hard CC hit vaporform. It always says “invulnerable” just like mist form despite the wiki text saying otherwise.

i have a 2.25 sec immob on my rifle and i have to hit the ele before he goes into vapor form (or it misses if i remember correctly wiki says its susceptible to controll effects but i dont remember it that way (i should do some test)), so even if i immob him when the immob wears off they often make it to the door anyway. Not that it bothers me much but i do wonder why they decided to make certain classes easier to stomp then others.
edit: wiki says immob is not a control effect , but im eager to test out my hard cc on vapor form now.
edit2: just tried overcharged shot (launch) 2 times on vapor form and it simply gets evaded.

Huh, I’m gonna have to test this out. I was sure I’d interrupted the skill using Whirling Strike… on multiple occasions.

The reason people have so much problem countering this skill is,
*The pet is dead, it cannot be cc.
*They are attack spamming monkeys who think moar dmg is the solution.
For whatever reason you cannot kill a drowning ranger in 10sec, atleast cc the pet after it starts to heal but before you kill it with cleave.
If you cannot handle getting exotic underwater equipment or understand which of your skills will cc, you don’t belong in the water.
I have little problem killing a ranger in the water…. With MY Ranger that is. I do love it when people take to the water to escape me. I almost never hit my pet skills.. Just fire power and NO condi. I hate condi.
