80 Ranger here, having a dilemma about gear.

I was looking through the armor sets, trying to choose which ones to go for. Ended up deciding between Berserker and Knight. But what caught my attention is the Valkyrie set. It gives Power Vit and Crit Dmg, something my build is not far from.

I used to run Marks/Skirm/WS before but now I run Nature Magic instead of WS. Currently loving it since I like to run dungeons and the extra HP helps a lot while having Strength of Spirit for a nice Power boost. And there’s always Two-Handed training whenever I want to use the GS.

What I’m planning is to get a Valkyrie Armor set and a Berserker Trinket set, or vice versa. The thought of full berserker gear correlates to glass cannon for me, so a mix is what I’m going for. As for the rune, still undecided (Rune of the Ranger/Eagle comes to mind). Would that be a decent gear build? I don’t want to spend money without having other people’s opinions.

As for weapon, I usually use SB/A+WH but it changes depending on the situation.

Why not mix Valkyrie and Berserker pieces?

Runes. I like runes of ogre and runes of ranger.

i would check out how much berserker you need to get your ideal crit chance. if you’re doing less than 40% crit chance you might want to rethink bothering with precision and crit damage…especially with shortbow and axe.

I don’t like the idea of mixing the pieces, but ill keep that in mind.

Trinkets should boost it a bit and runes of the ranger. If it’s still low ill max Skirm or try and spread traits out more.

Double post but I did a bit of math, hopefully it’s right.

Would you guys say 49% crit [could always use food to bump it to 50%] with spotter be decent? While having 18k hp and 2.3 power?

EDIT: Around 85-90 or more crit dmg if im right. Also, the stats are without sigil stacks

I’m currently at lvl 80, wearing all lvl 80 Valkyrie armor with precision rare runes (4 piece sets) 4 eagle, 2 Lyssa for the runes. All Power/Precision/Toughness jewelry, and berserker Longbow. Stats are pretty good for green gear.

Attack: 2990
Crit: 41%
Armor: 2176
Hp: 16,992

I’m 30 Marksmanship, 30 Skirmishing, 5 Wilderness Survival, 5 Beastmastery.

Using Air sigils on my weapons.
