Commander – Jam Death [Jd]
Fissure of Woe
Created a small video yesterday while messing around on Vabbi territory (yes, T9, so?) and explained some of the tactics used..
For instance, something I fail to see being used a lot is the “Stow Pet” ability. It’s great though, since it doesn’t give you a recharge counter when your pet appears when you start combat (if you take it out manually you have the 20 seconds of course).
Nevertheless, here is the vid, hope you like it, and of course feel free to comment/hate/spam/whatever..
Cool vid, and you might want to preempt the usual questions:
1) Build
2) Gear
Great video. There must have been a pretty big zerg taking the camps after you since they were able to do it witht he buff on.
I agee 100% that pet stowing is under utilized. You were able to run from one end of the map to the other without out your pet aggroing or entering combat hence slowing you movement speed.
I think I will refer back to this video everytime I hear someone complain about that issue.
I did not realize this was possible, but the pet in combination with Entangle does give you everything you need to take a camp. The pets can tank a few mobs at a time, while you deal damage, and keep the mobs in check with Entangle.
I can also do this with my Mesmer, but I have to move around a lot more since illusions die fast, and the Mesmer doesn’t have any AoE snare skill.
By the way, Swoop on the greatsword is a much faster travel skill then Call of the Wild, because it has such a low recharge time. The greatsword will also give you another interrupt on top.

Thanks all for the feedback, really warms my heart.. :-)
I have added some links to the description of the video with the build and the armor/accessories/weapons, as mentioned here.. I’ll post them here as well, for the record:

I usually just run in, kill the archers while everything is on my pet, switch pets after they’re dead, and tank the rest. Thanks to Omnom Pie, the more melee on me, the more heals I get.
However, soloing camps on my Mesmer, and Bunker Thief is far, far easier than with my Ranger. My Warrior, and Guardian builds can tank the Guild Claimant while he has the buff on him.
Very nice video, and good commentary.

I’m quite amazed that you would let your pet die, gives you the recharge of 60 seconds.. Also, I try not to be dependant of whatever snack I used.. :p Mostly in WvW I actually never use any consumable..
Pure play, I like! ;-)

I don’t let the pet die, I switch it after the archers are dead, before finishing off the rest of the camp.
they’re = archers
i very much enjoyed your video. keep making em!
