[Video] Ranger Solo Roaming
Nice video!
I’d suggest you to swap torch and dagger, so you have at least one evade in each weapon set. There are also a couple of useful combos you can dish out like this
- Sword #3 + Torch #5, followed by an immobilize from a pet is a really nice burst.
- Dagger #4 (you close the gap) + Axe #2, so you land all 5 bleeding stacks.
- Torch #5 + Sword #2 gives you a firefield and 1-3 potential might stacks.
I used to run the same weapon set like you do but this works much better for me.

Nice video
Dont worry about clicking your skills.. I click mine and always tell people that comment on it that if I am beating them like that with them using keybinds that doesnt make me bad, that makes them really bad.
Gunnar’s Hold
try keybinding utilities 1,2,3 as cvb and heal as x once you get off clicking it will make you even better.
use your thumb to activate them because jumping isnt to important in fights
other than that nice to see someone else using the same finisher as me and bark skin helped made all your fights super exciting to watch. just subscribed hope you make some more.
Glad you guys liked it.
I’ve seen a few people on the forum say they like S/T + A/D, and it does make sense. Maybe I’ll give it a try. It’s just that I’m so used to S/D + A/T.
When I played DAoC, I had keybinds all over the place and a ton more abilities to use.
I could definitely put something on cvb, or some other keys. With so few skills that we have here in GW2, I don’t really have an excuse not to. The less skills I have, the lazier I get, I guess. :p
yeh s/t a/d spreads the poison and evades better.
One of the benefits of a S/D weapon set, though, is that it’s good for escaping. I really like dagger #4 for that. Much more than sword #3, since the dagger jumps more forward. Combined with the sword #2 jumps, it’s quite good, and I run away a lot in WvW!
Have you felt that it affects your ability to get away from groups any, by changing to S/T + A/D?
Nice character, nice music, nice video!!!
Elona Bonechill – Necro / Fionna Gymirdottier – Guard /// RoF
I learned 3 things here.
1) rangers aren’t viable according to forums. So this entire clip is photoshopped.
2) Celestial gear can be useful
3) I am a warrior player. Even watching hammer warrior in someone else’s video upsets.
Really nice put together showcase of ranger.
Ranger condi builds are viables because condi damage is not nerfed ,only direct damage.
good video, but you need something against conditions (i know that you have melandru runes+food but against another condi class you will have a hard fight).
you could try runes of forge, + burn duration + protect duration+10sec protect, but you will lose -25% condi duration.

A rather unique combination of armor you have there. Great video. Great use of sword #2. It’s good to see these vids popping up again.
Question – With 22% crit chance, how often does sigil of blood proc?
See you in Tyria.
This weapon setup is so under-rated for roaming. I absolutely love it on my ranger. Yesterday I was roaming JQ bl, would jump in to 3-4 people trying to escort a doly, kill the doly and escape. So many evades and so much mobility with this playstyle, so great. The one problem with ranger is that even if you do land a kill you will almost never get a stomp (in 1vX situations) because people can rez faster than you can stomp and rangers have no on demand stability outside of RaO =(
Still crazy fun though, nice vid!

Hey,
First of all, am sorry for my english. I would suggest some things:
- You dont need so much toughness ( + 3k armor is useless) and you really need more condition dammage. Apothecary is much better than settler, at least with your armor if you dont get ascended yet. (give up precision)
- 4 runes of resistance + 2 runes of melandru (perma -66% conditions at least)
- Empathic bound instead Bark skin.
- Vigorous renewal instead Wilderness you can proc vigor two times and you can hold 8sec more with lightning reflexes.
- 10 points in marksmanship (instead skirmishing) = +10 % condition dammage and keen edge.
- Signet of renewal instead wild. (second break stun + passive)
You’ll do the exact same thing, but you’ll be more powerful and you’ll fight huge condi builds as necro or enginer. Its my build, actually :

(i can reach 1900 condition dammage in a small scale of roaming)

Expiatus, it doesn’t seem to proc that much and I’ve considered swapping to another sigil of earth, or even the one with poison on weapon swap for more poison.

Borya, I appreciate your suggestions, but I feel most of them is a matter of personal taste.
- I agree that the high toughness/armour might be a bit overkill. I swap out gear all the time to try out more/less of different stats, but usually sit at around 3100-3200 armour.
-I didn’t even know about runes of resistance! Still, I feel the -25% stun duration and extra 65 toughness the 6 Melandru runes give me is worth it over -5% condi duration.
-I prefer Barkskin. With Melandru and food, the only condi classes I have serious trouble with is condi necros. Some engis can be tough too. However, I run into far more warriors, thieves, etc, so I’ll keep my Barkskin.
-With the 30% boon duration I have, Vigorous Renewal would give me 6,5 sec vigor every 25 sec with Troll Unguent. Lightning Reflexes gives me 13 sec of vigor, but I would then get it every 40 sec instead of every 32 sec. Less stun break as well. With Primal Reflexes, I have plenty of vigor.
-Then I would have to drop Primal reflexes.
-Signet of the Wild gives me 100 h/s. I prefer that over curing 1 condi every 10 sec. With a 60 sec recast, SoR isn’t really good enough as a stun break. I also have -25% stun duration and a stunbreak every 32 sec, remember.
