Yak’s Bend(TWIN) Racist against Sylvari
RRR Ranger and Warrior videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/ElmoezHerra?feature=watch
(edited by Furajir.3815)
First, Decided to go with a much more offensive build than previous video, I also stuck with either using Snow leopard with malicious training for chill stacking, or Jaguar with Pet Prowess.
Got a lot of complaints last video for recording quality with the camera, many don’t know that I have a physical handicap in both hands that makes it difficult to rotate camera at certain points during skirmishes, I hope this one was a tiny bit better, I did what I could. Most fights are sped up due to duration, 1vx are spread throughout, tried getting decent 1v2-’s in there but like the first clips, people would just keep adding. And some portions are also zoomed in, was an editing mistake.
Enjoy and please leave any feedback, pos or negative.

Haha I get your point about people adding. Ya try and engage in a 1v1/1v2 and people just come out of nowhere and swarm you like zombies.
I’m tellin ya, the first two fights I showcased is literally 90% of my footage, I’ll be engaged in a nice 1vx and boom, people trickle in.
I like the video, shows what a good ranger can do. Personally i take a shortbow with me on my condition build to stack bleeds with my autoattack so fights don’t become too long. You kinda make me wanna try those Apothecary stats tho instead of my Rabbid ones, seems pretty legit!
I won’t ever shy away from the Axe/Dagger Sword/Torch combo. Given the ridiculous evades you can chain together on both weapon sets, the combo fields, and the constant weakness, you couldn’t pay me enough to use a crap sb, if I was trap oriented, that may be a diff story.
Also a SB w/o piercing arrows is meh. Not wasting the points on that craptastic trait.
(edited by Furajir.3815)
Hmm yeah I admit I use traps very oftenly so the shortbow is pretty useful. And sorry but you really don’t need arrows to pierce through everything if you are against groups as small as you showed in the video.
Sb goes well in trapper builds since you don’t rely on your weapon skills for all your conditions. In Bm builds sb just doesn’t do as much condi damage as axe/torch/sword/dagger.
For the shortbow thing, I have to say the axe/dagger sword/torch (in my case I run axe/torch sword/dagger, but it’s a preference thing) outputs more consistent damage in a fight for me. However, I do carry a shortbow for when I’m on walls or I’m in a zerg, or I just don’t feel like being up close and personal.
As for the OP, nice vids, keep it up.
I’ll try that setup of weapons sometime in the future, I just rarely have 1v1 or 1v2 encounters in our server without having a huge zerg coming from behind, then again I could try it in sPvP.
I’m sure it’s a very powerful build, I just personally prefer having a ranged weapon with melee weapons rather then being full melee.

Axe/Torch is a ranged combination, or at least mid-ranged.
I run full melee power build in T1 and have NP getting kills even with the zergs running atound.
Full power Build here as well and no issues killing with regularity.
“GH/GF f****ts” ?!
Sir, I am disappoint in you. You know I’m guild leader for GH, don’t ya? >:C

I’ve been using Snow Leopard more often now as well cause of that chill, ever since they did that post showing how it stays on enemies.

Most are cool, but sir, you have some really bad players in you guild that will literally pull some of the weakest stuff I’ve ever seen in this game. You know I love you.

Ya Menorah said he liked it, gave it a shot and I wasn’t dissapointed, especially with malicious training. It really screws people over if I can time it right after they pull a rotation that relies on a certain burst or healing.
Fura whats the duration of the chill on the SL leap with the 50% duration bonus?
This is where my math genius escapes me, the wiki says it’s only 10% so would be close to 9s, like 8.8s, but it seems to be longer, so idk if the wiki is wrong or.
Its 50% bonus not 10%
Wheres Puandro when you need him? Basically the Winters bite is cd of 10s, lasts 3 , and icy pounce is 8.8s if the thing is correct, andis every 24s with commanding voice.
Just checked on heavy golem in mists, looks like 9s, but seriously looks like it lasts longer.
So either it’s not 50% or……
Its 11 Seconds it looks like.
From the golems I just tested, that is..
its 50% bonus
Yup you’re right, I guess with malicious its just not on the condi tooltip, which would explain why it seems longer.
Still awesome combined with Winter’s bite
11 Second Chill is always awesome
Suck it necros.
It’s still a rough decision sometimes, Pet Prowess with Jag is hard to get away from, not to mention the swiftness on wep swaps, given how freqently I swap. Both are really good.
May i ask why you use 1h sword rather then Greatsword? what is the rational behind the selection? i made a post with my build on it id like to see what everyone thinks of it.
Greatsword is for a power build, I’m all condition, sword provides for a really good weapon along wither either torch or dagger.
Ahh, see i was using the GS in my condi-regen build for the gap closer and utility.
what do you use to get in and out of battle without use of the GS?
Owl is 6 sec chill and Leopard is 8. Trait gives 50% bonus. TBH i coukd think of a better way to spend 10 points for a 4 sec chill increase.
Yeah still think I prefer Pet Prowess with jag
Ahh, see i was using the GS in my condi-regen build for the gap closer and utility.

I don’t, I stay and duke it out, sword2 is fine if I need a small window to disengage for a few seconds.
I understand that part. But with no gap closer do you find that people are picking you off as you make your way in? thats what im worried about.
Also, you obviously know your stuff. would you mind checking out my post with my build on it and telling me what you think.

If you are looking to disengage, sword 2, detarget, 180 degree turn, then use sword 2 leap. With Signet of the Hunt on plus the distance you can gain, AND the first part of the sword 2 chain having invincibility frames (evasion in this game), it makes rangers extremely tricky to catch in a fight. Especially when you can use your pet (I use wolf/drakehound) to fear or immobilize while you can continue to run away.
ok…but how do you get IN to battle? just face tank till you get to them?

Most of the time, I’m the one opening, a lot of classes don’t run some sort of speed due to their utility slots being left open for far superior skills, like necros/mesmers etc.
So you tend to get a jump on majority of people, and it all depends, sword lets you literally chain tons of evades into 1 long combo, I do it quite a few times in the video, I will evade towards them, roll backwards, dodge, monarchs leap etc. You can evade chain into sword skills extremely fluidly, all the while evading incoming attacks.
Which is why you see me doing a pre-amptive serpent’s strike etc against thieves, so their inital bs misses, or they are about to hit me from stealth before immunity timer goes off. Beautiful thing about BM bunker of any build is that you CAN facetank stuff.

makes sense, did you have a second to check out my build? and i just bought a sword/dagger to try. hehe
I can when I get home, do you mind linking? I can pm you later.
ok…but how do you get IN to battle? just face tank till you get to them?
I feel bad cuz I keep responding to these, but I play literally the same build as the OP/vid/thread, except I run a different variation (axe/torch and sword/dagger), so I can respond from my own experience.
As a combat opener, generally, it depends if the person is paying attention to me or not. If the aren’t, I’ll open right up with a throw torch. However, if they are, I throw dagger 5 first, hoping to land it, and testing to see what they will/will not dodge. If it hits, I move in to melee, then generally, I try to go dagger 4 straight after that to avoid any of their openers/initial bursts while landing poison.
If they do dodge, or if I miss, I try to pinch them between myself or my pet to hit dagger 4 on them, still testing to see how competent they are, then go from there.
well im trying sword/dagger axe/torch right now and on mobs it seems viable.
Now i need to know what runes to run…im using 6 undead now..but dwayna sure looks fancy…i think i would lose a ton of cond dmg that way though.
I have to say, i miss the GS quite a bit. but im thinking having heavy cond on both sets of weps plus the CC and evades will make up for it.
Undead is nice for starter, cause it is a lot of extra condition damage.
Really Runeset is up to you, you can do more offensive or defense
I lost it at the Thief with the Min pet.
I lost it at the Thief with the Min pet.
Lol same here, had a great laugh!
well i took your advice tonight with the weapon selection and wow..with my build and those weps, i only died once tonight in our skirmish group and got 120 badges. what an amazing set up…except i wish i had some run speed besides the signet..because now i dont have a viable cond removal. Although my tick is 800 a pop so it beats the incoming conditions most the time.
Anyhow. thanks a ton!
Ya tha theif was lol.
