WTB.......
Oh and one other WTB is offhand attack animations. The lack of them makes this game feel so terribly weak. More people now days watch their character and get an awe out of them while they fight.
I suggested a similar idea to this a few months back, and literally nobody added thoughts or supported it.
So seeing I’m not the only one who would prefer this style of play is like a breath of fresh air.

I like the idea, but it’s too little, too late. Implementing this would require the entire ranger class to be rebuilt from the ground up. It would require more resources than I believe anet is willing to spare, and it would kitten off a lot of people who have come to like the ranger in its current form.
What I want is pretty simple. Better AI and pathing, Closer following distance, and the ability to trigger weapon sigils.

No it wouldn’t, just change the Ranger Pet Mechanic to be 1-4 “Summons” of your choosing (we’ll say 2).
F1: Summon Pet #1
F2: Summon pet# 2
The summon duration will be idk, like 10s? Or something? shrugs and it’ll summon your pet and replace the old F1-F4 bar with our current one giving us control over our pet during the duration of it being out (F4 would stow the pet prematurely).
The CD on each pet summon will be 20s (default) if the pet was alive when you stowed it/it despawned. If the pet dies then the CD will be 60s (like it is now).
If they change it to this then they should make it so that the ranger is ~ 125% the strength of the other profs while the pet is active and ~75% as strong as the other profs while their pet is gone.
The pet would have to POTENTIAL for 100% uptime (between the 2 pets), but we all know that’s not going to actually happen now don’t we?

This is a choice that comes before a class is coded . honestly , giving pets the ability to hit while moving , even if the damage is lower and making them not die in dungeons so easily is all the class needs . Individual weapon, spell and trait balance tweaks are irrelevant in my mind
I kinda feel the same way. It feels like pets are completely outside of the game: can’t dodge, can’t jump, can’t attack while moving and i don’t think that in a game that wants to be competitive we can have a class completely dependent on an AI. When you reach certain leveles the winner is always the one that makes less mistakes.
