I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Grab your tinfoil hats kids, we’re going for a ride!
Put it all together with just a dab of wild conspiracy theory and you get a master or grandmaster Druid trait that says:
Druid’s Call. Summoned Nature Spirits are now mobile and gain +50% HP.
Heh.
I bet that we’ll have a trait that will make spirits mobile, and it is likely to be a GM one.
I have no reason to believe they will include a spirits can move trait since they said they wanted to balance them around being immobile (still waiting on that part), and because no other elite spec had traits dealing with old utility skills
How about this – spirits get two modes, one where they follow you but give no buff and one where they root themselves and give buffs.
No other elite spec so far got a trait, which has an effect on core class skills. That’s fact and it makes sense. Why should it be a requirement to take a specific elite spec just to make an aspect of the core class viable? That would be terrible design.
They just have to buff spirits for the core class, that’s all.
Yeah it’s highly unlikely that Druid will be the only elite spec with a trait affecting core profession skills.
Now, I believe that the druid will have a skill which effect will be really close to what does a spirit. If I’m assuming that the druid end up with Glyphs and something that behave like attunment called aspect then, it’s super easy to come up with a skill that does something like that :
Glyph of natural power : For 30s your pet’s attack have a chance to grant boon to it’s surronding allies depending on your aspect. Number of target 5. Range 600. ICD 5s.
- Flesh Aspect : grant 3 might stacks 10s.
- Rock Aspect : grant protection 3s.
- Ice Aspect : grant fury 3s.
- Plant Aspect : grant regeneration 5s.
I’m already losing my mind waiting for the dam twitch con!
5 hours 40 minutes to go (not that I’ll get to see it cuz celebrating nana’s max level party IRL – she also maxed out cooking so there’s gonna be food buffs galore). So I’m relying on you guys to give a play-by-play on here lmao.
God this is like one sad step down from watching someone else play a game on twitch – reading about people’s reactions while they watch people play a game.
What am I doing with my life?
Nike is full of optimism, as always. Warrior player hype!
What am I doing with my life?
Doing all that you can to distract yourself from the emptiness of existence and the abyss of an entropic eternity consuming the works and hopes of any living being that has ever, or will ever exist?
I’m kind of hoping Ranger gets a kind of pet-meld mechanic, removing the pet but buffing the ranger… as unlikely as that is.
Dat Nihilism ^
Sad, but true ;__;
I’m hoping for something similar, like the “aspect of the pet” proposal that Allie Murdock was leading the CDI for ages ago. Basically a concept surrounding you stowing your pet and you receiving a passive buff/boon while that pet is stowed. Just not sure how well it will work seeing as that on its own would suck, and the fact that Anet will almost certainly not be granting us perma-stow.

A trait I’ve wanted for a long time and that to my mind is simple to balance and implement and that gets around perma stowing is a unique buff for when your pet is slain.

Actually thieves are screaming bloody murder that they have an old trait minor trait that was yanked now coming back as a new minor trait in the same tier.

Hopefully stocking up on max-level food buffs.
I would give an awful lot to have some of my nana’s cooking again.
I promise the game will still be here when you get back.

I am full of optimism. Its a trait we KNOW they already have the code for
.
Honestly, I think druids will be fun. But I think they won’t be ANYTHING like what people are hoping for either because of sub-par experiences with Ranger core mechanics or from watching the train wreck that was the Ranger CDI. That place where Aspects were proposed and the moderating Anet employee (because I won’t dignify her with the title “Dev”) asked that it could be calved off from the main thread to be buried and forgotten.
I’m not expecting to see anything more than the word “Aspect”, stolen from the grave of one of the most popular paths to improvement for the Ranger class ever put forward.
Isn’t Revenant now the aspect-like class?
How about the old GW1 ritualist PvE skill ‘Teleport all spirits to your location and heal them for x’
Ok, I know how I actually want to see the effect delivered. For realsies.
“While in Oakheart Form (Elite skill), your summoned nature spirits are mobile and gain Protection.”

Yes, but that minor is NOT affecting the core class like a spirit trait would, it’d be like if they took the old bark skin and put it in Druid, sure it’s old, but it doesn’t change anything the core class for like a spirit trait would.
No, no. I get you. I did say ‘a dab of wild conspiracy theory’. Honestly, if we get an ‘Oaktree transform’ that enables the little oaktree spirits to follow it around, that would be genuinely awesome looking. “Treeherder” for the win.

So, usually I’d be against a Transformation, but if it was like this, I’d be all for it
