Warhorn #4
currently now with Windborne Notes the skill is 15cd ( its bugged) but hey it just made this skill usable with 15 cd !
im running a power build axe/warhorn supportive druid
its about time they looked into warhorn, i prefer it to be changed into more supportive skill for exmaple MOAR buff then damaging skill
@EvilZombie
The good bug is good you are right, warhorn #4 need some love ( WH #5 seems to be in a good place) but I think that with druid we can output enough support
and the main reason I’m talking about it is that I think this is really easy to change. The runes #6 skill is already in game, no need to work with new one

I would prefer something else rather than simply copying the rune effect. Brainstorm! Personally, I like when skills have some cool and useful synergy with our pets, maybe think about the skill from that pov?
im not saying that your suggesting are not good enough what you propose good its alot better then the current version however i felt ranger have alot more offense options in term of offhand dps torch/ axe/ dagger already
let warhorn be a supportive off hand weapon
the main reason why i prefer it to be supportive weapon is because spirits are useless in WvW or most open-world events as you have to keep running around specially some in-game meta. By placing something like banner/spirit it really force you to position at a fix radius.
Supportive buff could be getting more Protection/Stability/ Vigor or copy the same as warrior warhorn cure immobilized while skill 5 remain as offense buff.
I think windborne notes double reducing its CD was intentional wrather than a bug since the other part of the trait doesn’t really affect it at all and the trait itself only affects 2 skills.
Rune of the mad King version isn’t all good and great, its pretty nasty if the targets it lands on have retaliation.
It would look cool and all, but I think they can do better than simply multiplying the targets it hits.
Pulsing Blind with every tick of damage it does sounds like a good enough change to me. Would be impossible to cleanse due to the pulsing (like standing in a Thief’s Black Powder) and would be great for ensuring melee safety.
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma
What do you think about this:
- When you proc WH#4 you get some kind of protective buff (maybe stability or resistance) and a special effect on yourself (It could have some “% on hit” boon)
- When special effect ends and you have more than 50% of health you output some aoe soft cc and maybe bleeding ( it would use existing animation)
- When special effect ends and you have less than 50% of health the birds would come and give you stealth and maybe some condi cleanse or even stun break
???

I second this. A pulsing blind actually sounds pretty good.
(Or a pulsing Slow)
Sadly, don’t think this skill will see any change. At one point, I would have liked to see the number of targets be increased like the Mad King bonus, but I don’t anymore.
It’s a strong single-target skill that can negate blindness and is fire-and-forget. Let it remain as is. Maybe decrease the cooldown to 20s and fix the cooldown error Windborne Notes has with it. Possibly have Windborne Notes allow it to grant Regeneration as well.
Beyond that, nothing more.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
While it does provide a technical immunity to blindness for the ranger, it also makes you take more damage than you deal if the target has retaliation.
I think it still doesn’t do it’s job that well when it comes to being a utility weapon. I personally think it should have yet another utility mechanic glued onto it.
Cripple? Blindness? Boon Strip? Numbers can be adjusted afterwards but now it still feels like an incomplete weapon.
Even if every single hit from the birds crit’d, you’d likely still be better off AA’ing for more damage output. It’s damage is garbage and outside using it for the trait glitch I would never touch it.

Too bad retaliation never counts on Anet’s book as a reason to buff or change a multi-hit skill before. It’s a give-and-take. Reason why I said what I did was when Robert Gee posted on why he did not want to buff Necromancer Axe #2 beyond the flat 10% damage they received on MH Axe overall.
I guess some don’t venture onto the other sub-forums, but the gist was a multi-hit skill that does not produce a projectile, so it is believed to be strong for the above reasons. Where Hunter’s Call excels beyond that in Anet’s book is that it’s fire-and-forget.
Retaliation as a counter is not a valid reason to add, change, or buff a skill like this according to Anet. Is it lackluster? To a point. Overall, its solid.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
I’d personally like to see it become a custom debuff (similar to Guardian’s Binding Blade, or even the bird seed effect that the Ogre boss in the Queen’s Pavillion has) instead of the current incarnation where its like a series of invisible hits coming from your character.
That way it couldn’t be obstructed (which makes no sense, how do you obstruct birds attacking your face by putting a rock between you and the Ranger?) and wouldn’t kill you from Retaliation either.
