We remember: Spirits Unbound should be back
Just make the spirits work just like Necromancer’s Flesh Wurm, complete with ground targeting, as well as activation into stun break and shadowstep (in addition to passives/active effects unique to each spirit).
Would be super fun to use with SB and it’s flanking bonuses.
The reasoning they made the change was because of the zoo effect. Could simply change it to act as a aura, witha wisp floating around you to signify whch spirit is currently up, giving the mobility and getting rid of the zoo effect. But why would you make a simple change to make an entire set of utilities viable again after a year ¯\("/)/¯

yep, I think the solution is ground targeting, and/or making the spirits invulnerable to AOE damage, and/or making teleport targets (and re-balancing their effects accordingly).
they are 100% useless in WVW/PVP atm.

And most of PvE content. Now that i think about it rhey are only usefull in raids as the arena is so small.
