Were we Nerfed? Any new good builds?
nothing changed really, ranger had mostly nerfs.
Only difference now Aney buffed the trait evasive purity that made all druids to swap to the NM traitline. The other buff was in strider’s defense but is wonky at best.
Which makes the druid go even bunkier obviously at the cost of damage now hitting like literally a wet noodle.
And probably you already know how mentally challenged players which don’t like to change build are struggling with the new bunker.
It has nothing to do with what was changed on Ranger/Druid.
The removal of air/blood/fire/geomancy/hydromancy/leeching sigils and the change to doom sigil, on top of nerfs like:
- DH damage nerf
- Necro passive proc nerf
- Warrior nerf to survival and F1 spam in zerker, and nerf to Mace condis
- Scrapper sustain nerf
- Tempest sustain nerf
All of those things are just a handful of the across the board nerfs, but Druid already had it pretty good on the meta build, to the degree it took a specific build to counter one (condi zerker) in a 1v1. Now, all of the matchups have become better across the board, to the degree that because the damage has been nerfed so much, Druid can at the very least duel indefinitely against any class while achieving the neutralization of a point.
This was technically true prepatch except against that very specific matchup; it’s just that now it’s a tad more forgiving than prepatch and you don’t have to play to computer perfection levels in order to counter the output of other classes.

I’m seeing more Revs and Mesmers than ever. The Revs are hitting really hard and the mesmers condis are nasty—-I don’t know whats up with Torment. I fought one mesmer from range, while another player engaged in melee—-I saw one clone/Phantasm die near me, next thing I know, my 21.5 Hp, drops to 11.5 and I have 7 stacks of Torment.
It happened so fast… I wasn’t even interested in the fight, passing by to another objective.
condi thief is very nasty too, about what happened to you is probably the buff to mind wark and master of fragmentation. As alway the other classes got many buffs but at least this time mostly not in the most used skills which will take some time to adapt.
Probably you didn’t see them but probably there were more than one clone around.
Anyway i never liked spvp in this game…
I want to like SPvP. It’s more action than WvW any day of the week.
When I fight the WvW’ers Im usually better than they are, more on my toes, better reactions.
But, Anet seems to favor Condi builds in an amazing way and that kittenes me off.
You guys talk about builds, please tell me what you do when you fight a whole team of condi scrubs. You get Fkt.

1 burn guardian can drop 16 stacks of burning on you, and that will kill you.

Hum, I ll try to answer to the topic.
I tried this these days :

The idea is to benefit from the buffs in sword and sb. The buff in sword is activated on sword evades, dagger evades, dodge rolls. The rune increases boon duration for the quickness.
The bonus of sb trait is applied on any evade (dodge roll, sb, sword, dagger).
Theoretically, if quickness is applied on cd, you have 4.5s quickness every 5s for yourself and 3.5s every five second for your pet.
NM is chosen to share quickness with the pet and increasing boon duration.
Glyphs are chosen for condi cleanses (both clean 2 condi + 1 with trait in Celestial, with short CD). You can combo them with sb and dagger 5 for cleaning more. You can combo it with sword 2 for light aura (but it is hard to land, the combo zone is short). It is generally better to keep glyphs for condi clean.
Signet of nature is chosen for AF generation.
I am still not sure of the healing skill. I am open to suggestions if you have some. I tried something with spirits, but the casting times are too long and you are interrupted too much.

The “IMMEDIATELY” part is the thing that bothers me. There was no cast time difference between the time I came out of caf (in stealth, just removed condis) and the condis on me. Needs a very short immunity in my opinion, something akin to Rogues Cloak of Shadows in WoW. Nevermind, Im sure anet couldn’t get that right.

No, Celestial Shadow is great how it is right now, you got cleanses when you entered in Caf and then experiencen players condi bomb the kitten out of you.
And that’s fun to play against otherwise it would be an Ez Mode, although i have to say many post of this kind are around all the forums lately. But not their fault but Aney faults for promoting a causal game but trying to keep the players coming back.
As many times it is said here while ranger is ez mode for pve because the pet will tank while you pewpew and the rotation is 12345, the class i very badly designed for pvp\wvw. Too many holes in the same dress.
So when other players tells you with the druid is very difficult to win against other players, just believe it.

Maybe it hits me harder than some of you, in game, my ping can be a bit high.
Honestly, I for instance got bored with druid in pvp the moment they removed cleric amulet ^^ . Been running power ever since.
Beastly Warden instead of Zephyr’s Speed with 2 birds is also fun.

Hmm, this looks interesting.
I’d still consider WHaO since you can use it for more boonstacking with your pet, but I could see Healing Spring being used for extra regen and cleanse in an area. If Warhorn was used over Dagger, you could have a blast for Spring’s water field, Regen (traited), or the Seed’s Light Field for extra cleanse + the extra fury/might/swiftness but you would lose out on the extra vigor and an Evade.
I might still try this out sometime, though.
