I’m already planning a secondary set of gear. Healing Power is going to be super important. I really like my zerker longbow build so I’m thinking of utilizing Zealot stats (pow, pre, HP) And mixing in some ferocity for good measure. I play WvW mostly. I also want to be well prepared for PvE. What would your ideal armor stats look like? Do you plan on running something similar to me?

For WvW I think just running a normal build (longbow, a/d + s/t etc) and using druid for sustain would be the way to go. Hard to say without trying it.

I have some ascended cele gear with defender (healing power) runes that I think will go great with druid in WvW if I wind up getting HoT.

But imo Zealot would be too squishy for a healer, you actually might die before “saving” your allies. No armor/vitality and judging from the beta some mobs hit quite hard even through celestial gear. I’m going to try full Cleric druid for the next BWE

Dizzayum son, Clerics? Monsters must hit like a truck. I’ve got a few clerics trinkets. I might craft some cleric armor. I miss my crits already.

Full Cleric to start with definitely, just to see just how good our thuper steroid-healz can be :P

I’m hoping more condition damage options will be added to staff gameplay so that I can use staff with Settlers gear. Otherwise I’ll experiment with zerk, celestial, carrion etc. with current builds except swapping out a traitline for the Druid line, and seeing if there’s any nice synergy or any gaps filled in current builds. One I’m particularly going to be interested in is to see if people can find synergy between longbow power/straight zerker builds and the Druid traitline.

For wuvwuv? I’m thinking zerker still. I doubt you’ll be in staff 100% of the time, so you’ll probably want a bit of damage. I’m thinking LB/staff will be what is used.

Oh as far as “wuvwuv” (I like that! Can I keep it?) goes, i still plan on using my current LB Zerker setup. I will however keep a second set of PvE centric gear for dungeons that I can also use for WvW.

I’d consider Magi or Nomads as a base. With pets gaining base condition damage, there’s plenty of opportunity to have your pet deal damage while you focus on support.

Pretty much anything with healing power.

You’ll still kill most things with 2 or 3 presses of the 1 key with Beserker’s though.

Clarions+remoresless MM+druid , Striders defence+quick draw or beastmastery ,

i may end up using Zealots for this if skirmishing trappers expertise duration boost on Healing spring will be much more useful than the new heal lots of regen with chunk heals on staff blasts+clarions , then take a Fire wyvern for a fire field double blast using pet swap and staff on a quick draw .

or beastmastery instead of skirmishing for Gs traited , and quicken zypher for quickness + might double blast again on the fire field while healing people.

but if you must use Invigorating Bond so you double heal using the druid trait which heals allies near you and pet when you use a heal skill you can make planting healing spring into a heal with out triggering it .

then take Bountiful Hunter + Evasive Purity to work with the druid GM that gives 33% speed when not crippled or immobilised, it’ll stop cripple full stop , improving your speed upkeep.

though it gives you a choice , more heals or better Mobility or even -33% condition damage ontop of that healing spring+ evasive Purity for a Super tanky Zealot.

though yes do try Clerics first less costly..imao , i still have some Zealots gear left over that was well expensive but the healing results pre-druid are amazing i was reaching 9k regen over 8seconds+7k on trigger. this was with 650-700 healing power(i think) 70% zealots gear main gear was zealots and one trinket was magi’s, so i’d think it would be worth the investment.

Cleric or Nomads for the lols

Personally, I want to go with a full support/sustain build while having my pets be my primary source of dps (I think it will synergize well with the immobilize/cc’s).

with that in mind, I’m considering either nomads or clerics (I already bought some clerics inscriptions/insignias in case the price spikes). I was thinking celestial (since we already know celestial is a good stat choice for most classes and celestial + druid just sounded cool) but my build probably won’t have any condi damage so I’m not sure if it will make sense.

TBH though, I think I’ll wait until BWE to decide

The word is SCALING

Before we know how the staff/druid scale with power and healing power (on the different skills) we know nothing. If "good healing skill xx) scale porly with healing power, and have a big base heal then we dont need/want to healing power in the build, and can go full dmg or tank (depending on choise).
On the other hand the base heal is low and it scale hard with healing power, then we want max? healing power in the build and less dmg/tank.

And the same go for the dmg skills.

Unless I missed it, they did not mention what amylet they used during the stream so we dont really know anything yet.

The best gear for pve will most likely be zealot’s since it is the ones that doesn’t nerf your damage the most.

I’m thinking Zealots too, just dunno how to get the trinkets. Also getting expensive to make atm. Either that or clerics but who knows maybe ppl will play Berserker Druid.

Magi, Shaman, Zealot’s. Next.

I wouldn’t jump on healing power gear just yet. We don’t know how well it scales. The baseline could be pretty good already.

zealot’s seems nice but i just think the druid traits and glyphs make it work better with a condi build

Only 669 Healing Power max with staff out, but with an additional 30% outgoing effectiveness from Monk Runes and Natural Mender. Cruelty sigil to make up for the loss of ferocity, bringing it up to a max of 896 ferocity. Gonna have to mess around with utilities, pets, and traits during the next BWE. Might have to rework the gear set-up depending on how difficult the raids are.

I’m going for a cleric build because of the following reasons :

Most things in the Druid traitline says things like ‘increases healing power per allied healed’ or ‘increases healing power per this and that’ etc, which is nice when you have a set with healing power.
Next is the fact that you are using staff and power is not neccesarily a bad thing, especially since your staffskills has no condition attacks (if I remember correctly) so power is a nice addition for a little DPS boost.
Lastly, I feel toughness will play a nice role in staying alive in raids, especially for new mechanics. And let’s be honest here – not everyone is an expert in dodging stuff etc. So being a tanky healer has its benefits. Eapeically when you need to dish out some decent heals and you’ll have to take some hits along the way just to keep the raid alive.

This is just my personal opinion in all fairness. I could be wrong. But I feel thats how I’m going to play as a full on dedicated druid healer and not a hybrid DMG/offhealer

This was my thoughts as well.

I think that dropping Natures Magic or wilderness survival (depending on what you were already doing) for Durid will be a good plan. if you where going to build a build sole around the druid staff i would suggest celestial or cleric. but in that case you damage will be coming from the pet mostly.

Thinking Cele or Zealots currently, but without some hands on testing its hard to say.

Celestial with Superior Runes of the Monk might be a good idea.We will see what druids are capable of with Celestial next BWE.
