Q:
I’m hoping for some love.

As far as ranger goes?
Disappointment.
I expect nothing.
Not saying that in the cynical “oh they won’t do anything life sucks” sort of way, but the fact that I really have no idea what they’ll do. There hasn’t really been much hinting at all lately and with Guild Missions hitting I doubt any of the huge issues like Pet AI are going to be tackled just yet, so…
Inflation on items I invested in so I can get Aether.
I think we are just getting nerfs which makes zero sense. Since we only have 2 good builds. Now it will just be one decent build

I agree with this entirely.
Hopefully buffs, Anet would never make a drastic change out of the blue but even the smallest buff would make me feel better.
I expect other classes to get buffed, Warriors, and Thieves keep their 1 shot bursts, Guardians keep their near invulerability, Necros keep their massive condition damage, Mesmers keep their abilty to burst and abuse the broken targeting system. Rangers still become fodder. I gave up on being a Ranger in PvP awhile back. ANet doesn’t take pvp seriously at all it seems, and just tosses buffs and nerfs everywhere and hopes something good happens.
Much more loot.

I’ll need another 40ms to properly respond to this thread.
I’ll be back in a week.
Something more than the October patch but less than “substantial changes.”
Underwater combat buffs, along with some description fixes sprinkled on the side!
I hope for longbow buffs and perma pet stow option with a damage buff attached. What will actually happen is probably what arrowin said, underwater buffs and some kittenty tooltip fixes. Atm Im playing 100nadeso n engi so as long as they dont nerf that Im golden.
I’m expecting a small pet buff (maybe pathing or F2 responsiveness). Nothing earth-shattering but helpful. Maybe a bump to our sigents or shouts, since JP said they’re sad. It seems like we get a morsel with each update. Something helpful but super-tiny just so that they can say they attended to some of our needs but ran out of time to fully implement all of their big plans. Again.
Nothing. I find it makes my life easier that way.
This is an extract from gw2guru interview to colin johnson :
Question about ranger utility skills that aren’t being used and how it hasn’t been addressed yet.
Colin: I actually have no idea right now what stuff that group is working on. I’d have to check in on them and see when I get back. But one of the big things that we’ve kicked up recently is basically and analytics team that records all the data in the game. It allows us to look at that and help make decisions about the things we’re doing. They’re actually the group that helped us find a lot of the loot issues recently. Because we really just didn’t have any information to get that stuff. We kicked this team up so that we could get all of that information. It’s incredibly useful to have all of that stuff so that we can figure things out. Without that you’re kind of flying blind. We’re able to look now at what weapons are getting used all the time and we use that date to determine what weapons really suck and go and try to fix those. And what kind of skills are getting used, which ones aren’t. It really helps us determine what needs a boost. So I imagine if no one is using a bunch of the ranger utility skills, they’re going to see that and look at those and go try to address those based on that data. So hopefully that’s on the list if no one is using those subset […].

Saying and doing are two different things, Gran.
I myself am obviously hoping for some love for our spirits, signets, shouts, and various weapons nobody ever uses because they’re just plain bad, but I’ll be pleasantly surprised if even one of those earns a well-deserved buff.
my only expectation for the patch today/tomorrow would be, new content.
I honestly dont care if rangers gets buffed or nerfed, i’ll play em anyway. Iv’e played so many games, and mods where my stuff gets nerfed, that by now, i simply no longer care.
After all, quoting an old buddy of mine, the best player is the one who makes the most out of what he has, not what he could have.

Funny thing is, longbow hasnt been used in pvp since the beta nerfs by many people and they still havent addressed it yet.
I just started playing this game and got my Ranger to 80. If this game is like all the others they wont fix anything until enough people stop playing rangers. I have been playing these type of games since EQ 1, so since 99 or so. Their are always people who talk about the problems with a class and exaggerate, then their are the fan-boys to whom nothing is ever wrong. I know one thing for sure our buffs are bad and our DPS is very bad when you take the pet out of the equation and in dungeons that’s most of the time. Will there be fixes yes at some point but not until enough people walk away from the class.
Hillaan you’d be surprised Arena Net is the only group of people who actually produce their stuff on time and follows through with what they’re releasing. They will fix classes in the patch. There will also be bug fixes.
If Rangers are lucky just some tool tip fixes. If unlucky more ‘fixes’ that weaken the profession without compensation or explanation.
Ranger’s get nerfed as apparently a few of us rangers have been naughty and actually killed players using the other classes, warriors will get buffed because, well… just cus, and the thieves will gain immunity to traps as well as their speed signet being increased to 100% extra run speed (they’ve been feeling a bit slow since rangers’ signet of the hunt became useful)
Nah but honestly though i’d personally like to see (and this might be a bit of ranger bias so please forgive):
That is all

You were one hundred percent accurate.

I didn’t know there were any rangers that built for support. How do you do that?
Hey guys look at my quote from yesterday.

Many ways to support allies, but often it will take more than hitting a single button to get it to actually happen… there is a knack to getting drakes to do blasts on command on top of fields. There is a knack to getting moas to heal when you want. Concentration training really improves the duration of your pets boons, but it only works when they are in combat (very important to remember).
Well I called it, this is not going to change until Rangers are all but not played. This same thing happened in WOW with shaman, it was almost exactly the same as here. It did get fixed but only after almost no shaman were being played in the game. I have no idea why they are not working on it but it is a very poor business practice. I still play my Ranger but in a dungeon its not a whole lot of fun. If they would increase pet resistances it would be playable though not good.
