What elite skill?
The main one I use is rampage as one, for the boons it gives. You can get a lot of might stacks if you use QZ along with it.
Every once in awhile i will use nature spirit for its revival/conditions effect.
For ranger only Rampage as one or Entangle. Entangle is great in WvW and Spvp. Rampage as one gives some amazing boons.
As an asura I use my Offensive golem alot though.

We have such few options for speed that I use Rampage as One. I like playing a BM build, so RoM is really good for buffing both me and my pet. Plus, when out of combat, it’s a nice source of speed when you have to run a greater distance.
I prefer Entangle over Rampage as one, in WvW/PvP most people need quite some time to realize why they can’t move so you’ll get some time for getting away/doing damage.
In dungeons I mostly kite away 1-2 mobs from my group and Entangle saved me hundreds of times while kiting certain mobs. My problem with Rampage in dungeons is that my pet is either passive or dead, so the boon only affects me.
Getting the LE ver, I find ALL my human Ranger’s elite skills horrible. If not for the Mistfire Wolf (which works great in a bind), I wouldn’t even bother with the Elite skill bar. BTW, Mistfire Wolf looks awesome with a Ranger ^^ – it’s like having a second pet for thirty seconds….but actually does damage T_T
I find Entangle incredibly useful – particularly against bosses who spawn lots of lesser enemies. You can pin down the minions and leave them to be slowly killed by an AOE, while concentrating mostly on the boss.
For some reason, I’m not allowed to buy Mistfire Wolf. It doesn’t come up with a price when I hover over.

I believe Mistfire Wolf is something you got from the Collector’s Edition of the game, and not acquireable by normal means. Wish they wouldn’t have put it into the list for those who didn’t buy that, its just taunting you sitting there (like how they put stuff like the Black Widow into the pet list even though you can’t get them normally).
I use Entangle in PvE exploring when i come up against a lot of mobs. Rampage As One I use when I’m fighting against bosses, or in Worlds PvP, just to get more DPS. And then I use Spirit of Nature in dungeons to support allies. Mistfire Wolf looks great, but I can’t help but feel like I’ve wasted an elite skill whenever I use it, because the recharge time (240 seconds) is way too long compared to what you get. It should be 150 or 180 seconds instead.

Since I only WvW, Entangle is a must have. Countless times I’ve ran into a huge mob, popped Signet of Stone (traited) and rooted a bunch of them and as usual people start tab-targetting, and all the people at the back tab target the roots and roots are kinda bugged to ranged attacks so many tend to just spam their attacks at roots that cannot die :P 7 vs 20? Sure thing :P

Love entangle, especially in events. Lay 2 traps, entangle + murellow aoe poison is a recipe for win.
Anyone who thinks the healing spirit isn’t good in PvP is doing spirits wrong. It is *amazing* under water, where the revive from downed can keep you alive against a whole bunch of people in a zerg on the ruins. And, support rangers with a warhorn can have fury, aegis, might, swiftness, regeneration, and protection up on allies quite a lot. If you’re the support and fighting in the circle with friends, they’re quite good.
Of course, when the bonus they apply only gets better with more people around, they’re far more useful as support in massive PvE zergs, but still good support in PvP.
So shines a good deed in a naughty world.

Rampage as One for a roamer build – added Swiftness for mobility, and Stability for stomps and rezzes.
Entangle for a Trap / Condi build. Holding groups of enemies in place w=hile you AoE them down is awesome.
Healing Spirit for point defense. Self rez and team rez is amazing for bunker builds.
