I enjoy core lb ranger. I don’t really like touching my ranger if I don’t run lb in the build.

Ranger means longbow to me too. Otherwise I just play thief.

My favourite weapons to use are greatsword and dual axes.
My favourite specialisation has always been nature magic, even back before they were specialisations.
My favourite of the new traits is quick draw. I always miss it when I swap it out for something else.

But I don’t really have one particular favourite build. I’m far too indecisive for that.

This is what I’ve really been enjoying dungeoning on. Its a zerk GS/Staff build.

dropping frost spirit and spotter, for quickening zephyr, and Strider’s Defense, for some amazing projectile hate.

In what setting? pve?pvp? wvw?

I have been using variation of stealth trapper build since I discovered the trapper rune. So much fun.

Longbow Sword/Axe Shout Ranger.

I just wish there was less projectile reflection in the game so I could justify bringing it anywhere >.<

Also my dream ranger would be a longbow ranger without pets ( they wont get an AI buff it seems). But we will not see something like that as it seems.

REAL Ranger with Longbow and Zerk-Build, i guess, or FULL Heal/Support Druid without longbow. What i hate most atm is that all new ppl use Meta Battle Hybrid Druid build and that that one got good points. I dont care that GW2 is different. If you want to dmg, then Ranger. If you want to heal, play druid. Not half/half. Hybrid druids are not useful. 99% i have seen has not healed or was too stupid to use the druid right.

This is from a WvW point of view. My favourite build was a variation of the old BM bunker build Xsorus posted but over time and especially with the release of HoT the build is massively underperforming.

My main issues are the lack of condition pressure compared to most other condition based classes and the fact that since HoTs release, having a high armour rating doesn’t seem to mitigate as much damage as it used to. Pets damage is poor unless you run the 2 main HoT pets and run ‘We Heal as One!’ leaving the other heals lacking in incentive and the large list of pets in the game being somewhat useless in comparison to Bristleback and Smokescale.

Lately I’ve been playing my old roaming shout ranger build on my alt account with bird and wolf. I forgot just how fun it is. I spent hours wrecking people, I won quite a few 1v3’s against gold to platinum ranked players running hot builds.
It finally got to the point where several of them swapped to ele’s so they could rotate the projectile hate and shut me down completely lol.

But honestly, condi rangers are pretty outclassed by other condi builds right now :/

…but with ranger runes, because in my low-end dungeon pugs I can’t assume either banner of discipline or scholar’s upkeep.

For open world swap in the speed signet when there’s lots of running, and the condi removal signet when there’s lots of condi.

I’d much rather play this than a druid build.

This is basically what I run as well, with a few slight tweaks. I’m sure it’s probably not “meta”, but it’s crazy fun for me. LB is just dull for me for some reason.

100%+ fury/might/swiftness uptime with this

Can swap Bountiful stones for Superior for more Power but little less boon duration

Can swap Owl for Wolf for more CC. I like the damage and chill from the F2 on Owl

Been using this build for a while and I have no issues 1v1 and typically can 1v2 (except vs MM Necros/Reapers or high condi sustain Mesmers/Chronos…need to learn my timing)

There is good rotation to get a quick 25 stacks of might, thanks to copying boons between you and your pet.

These two builds have solely contributed to me getting legendary this season.

I used something very similar to this in PvP when I was working towards my Champion Hunter title a long time ago. Though, it was long before HoT release so I didn’t have Tiger.

I transferred the build to WvW and it works pretty nicely for roaming although not as much as it used to. Even with a total heap of Toughness and evades, certain builds can still cut through me like butter.

That said, it’s still my favorite build even if it hasn’t aged well. I can generally tank a ton of damage and I’m incredibly slippery. The damage isn’t amazing but with Opening Strike + easy access to Fury it’s not bad at all either. I mean sword AA’s are usually doing 2.5k which is pretty awesome with how low Power is on this build and that it has base Ferocity.

Again, it’s not nearly as good as it used to be but it’s still my favorite. I just really enjoy how durable it is while still being able to do totally acceptable damage.

I miss my daze Druid build back in Season 1, I loved making my opponent play a turn based game.

Of course full dmg with the longbow. I’m always running with the zerg as we go stomp on groups less than half our size. And when we lose to said groups I will run back to my spawn or if lucky I waypoint and shout in map chat that my server sucks.

Combat Medic got me to Diamond, where I’m currently stuck at the moment. Saved a lot of lives with it, and ended many due to interrupts to stomp with, too. Felt more Bunkerish than the “Meta” Mender’s build with all the toughness it had.

I used Cultivated Synergy pretty often, also. Of course, conditions fry me quickly, and 1v1/hard CCs felt like struggle sometimes, especially against Warriors, but it felt just right in Teamfights somehow.

My Burn Druid build brought me realtively easy to legendary, SoloQ.
