What new Skill type for Druid IYO?
Possibly Wards or Symbols…I think either suit the Druid.
F5 – Transform to X animal.
Hmm… Depending on Anets view on Druids I can see us getting Meditations or Venoms probably.
Covenant of Bloodthirst [IvsI],
Favorable Winds [Wind]
Signet of the wild on a staff skill.
Staff skill 5 Pet enlarges causes 25% more damage immune to crits for 5secs
damage : 242 × 5
Chain roots immobilse 1secs
pulse cripple 3secs very 1sec interval for 5secs (should average out to a end total of 9secs of cripple over 10 targets)
600yards/radius
targets 10
cooldown 35secs
(target thuds the ground with his staff causing roots to exit the ground , Enraging your pet)
i’d like somthing like this, makes the pet beastly and provides some large scale CC.
I could see venoms as a unique spin on the druid archetype, however if the spec is supposed to be more supportive in nature (pun not intended), I think Elixirs or Meditations are of bigger possibility.
Come to think of it, I actually quite like the idea of Elixirs as an addition to ranger utilities. The classical druids of old were wise men who dealt with herbs and potions and to whom people came for medicine and advice. There are infinite possibilities of Elixir effects- all that matters is how imaginable Anet will be.

Maybe something new will become baseline for the ranger and the spirit grand re-work is going to belong to the Druid spec.
Man, people would be kittened.
It’s extremely unlikely Rangers would get another batch of spirits. No class is going to get the skill type they already have.
I didn’t say ‘another batch of spirits,’ as in a lot of new spirits on top of what they already have, but sure, I think that’s correct.
What I said was mostly just to goof off, because that’d be the ultimate hype killer. However, it would really fit thematically for druids to summon… druid spirits.
Meditation please.
I think it’ll be either cantrips or consecrations. Would be hilarious if they were given minions.
Concecrations is what I’m betting on, it fits thematically and will fit the role of AoE support and CC.

I like that idea. I want to play more Support and more Tanky on my Ranger.
I would like Transformations the most honestly tho…
Transformations already belong to Revenant, and I don’t think they would take away from that by letting Rangers do it. Besides…what would we transform into? Animals?
I personally thought we would get wards of some kind, however Dragon Hunter seems to have the area control. They also have the ability to buff from the backline, so I can’t see Druid duplicating that.
I also question why they announced the Druid first but seemingly are going to detail it last. I mean, they also mentioned Tempest off hand for Ele, but we actually saw a Druid in the promotional video.
Something tells me Anet is still trying to figure out what the Druid should do….
IF DH is a Guardian with a better Longbow and traps then us then Druid should be a Ranger with better Staff and Meditations then Guardians.

Same here. Although… It seems that the Guardian has become a G/R (DragHunt) so would the Ranger become a R/G (Druid) too?
But, I can also see a lot of other skills being viable; Cantrips, Conjures, even Arcane skills. Mantras or Manipulations. Venoms, Stances, Elixirs, Meditations too. Maybe even Corruptions.
Minions aren’t completely out of the picture. Would be the worst possible option ofc.
Summon minions?! Oh man, that’d be like the one thing that could rip me from Minion Master. :O
Spawn 2 raves, a wolf, a spider, a bear, and for elite… idk, a dragon :P
I’d totally use it.

Glyphs because druid is probably ele/ranger.

I wouldn’t complain if we got minions as long as they were all animals

Of course they’d be all animals. And I would love them all. o.o
Oh and they better respond to f1/f3

Minion utilities would probably inherit the necromancer minion AI, and that one truly is horrible, our pets are Einstein compared to that.

HoT apparently hired some new AI guys. Those issues will hopefully be a thing of the past. ESPECIALLY if (and why I want this so much) a class DOES get Minions, they would surely fix the glaring issues so they didn’t look bad during the expansion! It’s almost the perfect plan…

i know this is a little off topic (didnt want to create a new thread). But will each profession get 1 elite specialization each? and yes i have not been reading updates…thanks

For now. But it’s paving the way for more “frequent” additions.

I like your optimism, hopefully it’s true, even if no new spec gets minion skills, this would be great for our necromancer friends.

They hired the AI guy(s) on several months ago, so there’s a very good chance that we’ll be seeing their results soon.

Each specialization will be getting their first elite specialization with heart of thorns and additional elite specializations will be released in the future.
ALL elite specializations will change the prof mechanic a bit, add a new weapon, add a new utility type (full set, heal, 4 utilities, and an elite), and the traits. You’ll also be limited to one elite specialization being active at a time, IE you couldn’t be a Druid + w/e elite specialization #2 is.
