Personally I would like to get a Jackalope or bunny that F2 skill is a knockdown. I’m sure a few of you will know what I mean.

Rangers get a new pet? I thought they only introduced new minis.

Can I get a thief as a pet ? F2 with Heartseeker…

I wish we had birds that actually could fly, and not bee on an invisible grounded leash.
Also pets that could jump down instead of taking the marathon length walk around a mountain.

As a new pet:

- Rhino

The flying idea is great! I still wonder why my Eagle can’t reach an enemy on the wall of a keep etc. – it really annoys me that some of our potential damage just isn’t happening.

Yeah, they will sometimes introduce a new pet for rangers. The last event introduced a new one, the Reef Drake, which can be obtained from the new map, Southsun Cove.

Personally, I’d like to see a Dolphin to compliment our new frogmen buffs

Badger or Wolverine… something small but badkitten…

The new pet was introduced with the new zone. This is a seasonal event we have coming, much like the Halloween one (where we got no pet)… so I’m not expecting anything.

Well, I wanna Shadow Skelk. Any skelk would be nice ^^ .

Karka, F2 is their machine gun ability of course, would be nice to have a projectile on the Ranger that can hit.

I believe those two are very fitting for Wintersday and are not out of the question since they were only available during the Wintersday Seasonal Event in GW1 as well….

Honestly I don’t care what the skin is, but we NEED a better ranged pet option. Make it max range the same as our bows and please give it a decent projectile speed!!!

Can I put in a shameless plug for that big skelatol dragon that takes 1/2 hour for a mob of 50 to kill as our new pet?

If I had to limit myself to just one new pet, it would definitely be a Dolphin.

(Although I wouldn’t mind a Young Karka with that 10k+ attack as F2)

I’d like a pet that can land hits in pvp way better than all the current ones.

I have a thief pet and it’s awesome. You get it by following these instructions:
1) Log off your Ranger
2) create a thief
3) level to 80
4) go to WvW for the first time and still freaking pwn.
5) get around to acquiring exotic armor
6) go back to WvW
7) ????
8) PROFIT!

I’m currently on steps 4 and 5, and I can’t recommend it enough.
Thief pets totally rock.

A working pet that can hit moving targets, doesn’t get killed in 2 seconds by Aoe and has even remotely decent Ai.

House cat. One that attacks like one. Jumps at the mob, latches on and starts scratching the hell out of it with it’s back feet lol. It also goes for the eyes.. so the house cat can inflict bleeding and blindness lol.

Sorry, that’s what I meant. I call them groundlings since they come from the ground. Plus well I get so infuriated at them that I forget their name.

A Quaggan would be an awesome pet! xD

Other than that, one of the white tiger “stalker” mobs in the snowy areas. Always wanted one. Also, a ram would be pretty neat. I mean there are so many different mountain goats and things that whenever I see one, I wish it was charmable.

I’d be amazed if we got another new pet. We got the reef drake last time. I don’t dare to expect another one this month.

But if there is a new pet, then maybe one which gives a passive damage buff (bit like a signet), so you can put him on passive and not lose too much dps. Maybe a wind rider.

Or a pet with retaliation, considering it’s the only boon pets can’t get (except asura with fortifying bond). With the reef drake we got a condition we couldn’t get before (confusion), so it could be retaliation next. It should probably be a bear.

Or a pet that instantly teleports to their target and instantly hits, much like a thief with shadowstep. It could be a skelk.

Though by no means certain since we didn’t get one for Halloween, if we got one for Wintersday, I would be delighted to no end to have a penguin. Failing that, a (rain)deer would be cute since that’s one of the existing wild animal types we don’t have a juvenile version of.

…Thinking of this post made me really want a Christmas Fern Hound. Sylvari can grow their own Christmas spirit!

but yah jingle bear and moa would be best guess, the ones in gw1 can be tamed any time in the year if you did the the winter’s day quests back in gw1 so its not out of the question for home instances

A Dragon. One could only dream…

While having a new pet would be great (Dolphin .. crazy we don’t have that as a charm-able), what I would much prefer is a new F1 which allows you to ‘inhabit’ the pet you are using and transfer all your accumulated traits/DPS to it’s 4 skills. Call it soul-transfer, if you like. You get to direct all your pet’s movement, see through it’s eye, choose who to attack with what, etc..
While you inhabit your pet, your own body is invulnerable.

Raptors. 3 raptors with ranged f2 skills, stealth, and gains might with first attack skill. Skelks, Etins, anything. I don’t care as long as it’s not a drake, cat, or dog, bird, moa.

Seriously no one mentioned Rudolph? Or a reindeer in general?

From a pure “wish list” perspective, the top of my list would be either a Griffon or a Worm (pref. a ranged one EG Plains Worm). Though really, I don’t think I’d complain about any new pet family getting added.

However, more realistically I wouldn’t really expect any pet that doesn’t match a family we already have for a montly event like this, and since we aren’t getting a new area or anything probably not even a new model. So based on that, an Alpine Stalker would be nice. Fits the winter theme and would have a relatively distinct appearence from our other cats (we don’t have any tigers).

Of course, I don’t really expect a new pet at all for Wintersday, honestly.

I’m not sure what pet I’d wish for, but I know what pet ability I’d wish for: A projectile block or reflect (out of water).

Not sure what type of animal this would match up with though…

Or alternatively, a Dolyak dressed as a reindeer, with a red clown nose on.

Anything with swiftness on an F2 would be awesome. And while I don’t like the looks of moas, having a golden moa with swiftness makes an awesome FF7 reference, so I could dig it.

It also gave vigor… It was fun dodging around at super speeds running circles around thieves… Those were the days… But everything changed when the fire nati-er I mean the game launched.
