I’m switching to a short bow spec and I’m leaning towards the endless quiver. What do you guys think?

It is a slow road, but I will get it eventually. Just earning it through normal play.

I’m second guessing myself because ancient bone is by far the cheapest mat.. so this seems too easy. Any reason NOT to get the endless quiver as a short bow ranger?

Oh man you are right. That is cheap. I think I’m gonna go for that one too as I really just want it for the skin. I mean the condition dmg is good but power is also good for shortbow since it fires fast. I think your choice is just fine

I went for the quiver for purely fluff reasons. I use dual bows and a quiver just fit perfectly. Plus, the stats are pretty good for any occasion.

Well i’m going to be -that guy- and use totems because i want to make sure i have healing power on my gear… that being said i’m probably going to be gunning for the tome instead of the quiver because i’m priory and priory is cool and the such…

PS: I’m almost tempted to get “There with Yakkington, a Travelers Tale” just because of the name…

i haven’t heard this and i’d doubt it, the point for these items is to get people to waste their matts on them so they can get “1337 stats” instead of getting a legendary item.

Berseker stats quiver for me, but i’m waiting for the cost reduction that has been said by Anet.

And yes, Anet confirmed the cost for ascended gear was too much and they will change it.

I really think he is telling the truth I remember reading this somewhere it may have even be a red post. I am trying to find it for you.

Think whatever you want, I know what I’ve seen, search for it by yourself. And yes, it came from Anet but I’m obviously not gonna spend an hour trying to find a post that has been written weeks ago.

Change is good! We have some interesting changes coming to FoTM involving the ascended rings we hope will resolve the problem at its core. Expect it soon!

As for my means of playing the game… I actually don’t play with other Anet people. I play with my small casual guild of old friends, but more often than not I am PUGing it since I am a bit more hardcore than my buddies. I don’t typically represent Anet when I do it so I can play the Meta with random people and find out all the neat little tricks that the community comes up with to solve difficult problems.
I experience dungeons and such from the PoV of the average player. As a designer it’s important to experience things like everyone else does, so you can make better informed decisions when moving forward.

Yes, and that one was only in response to the way rings are handed out through RNG currently. I couldn’t find any hint relating to any potential cost reduction or alternate method to obtain the a quiver (or book) back item

Hi Bila,

I agree that the crafting materials required for Ascended Gear are to much of a grind and we are looking to balance the requirements in a manner that is fair for all involved and we had always intended for their to be multiple ways to get Ascended Gear it just didn’t make it the FotM build.

They even said that you will be able to get Ascended gear through WvW and other PvE places other than fractals. And no, they didn’t post that 3 days ago, i took it from another “quote”.

Got Swift Flight quiver.

Of course, it’s only after I got it that they talk about lowering the requirements.

Hopefully, they’ll nerf the requirements for ascending it. 250 ectos is a bit outrageous at the current drop rates.

Endless quiver. Though if they lower the price on it, I’m going to be extremely disappointed since I spent so much money on mats to have them stolen and then bought again.

I went for Endless Quiver purely because at the time of making ancient bones were the cheapest option lol

I crafted “Sights Be True” or something of that nature (The armored scale one).

It looks kitten and the mats weren’t that difficult. Actually I bought 100 scales at 15s, then they dropped to 9s over the next week. Best way to do it is just farm whichever way you can for rares to get the 50 ectos, then just sell any more ectos you get and use the money for the t6 mats. T6 mats are way too annoying to farm themselves. I did spend roughly 20g for the mats, seems like a lot but I also got it in under 10 hours playtime.
