Why The Ranger Doesn't Get A Rifle.
Ok then how would you design the Ranger rifle? I think this is the reason why Anet did not give the rifle to the Ranger, because they have not planned it out.
Btw longbow already does single-target direct damage, so I would rather Anet improve it than making rifle the same thing.
Ranger already have a long ranger and a mid range weopan what would be the point of doubling up on either.
Harpoons guns dont use gun powder. Not really that hard to make a harpoon with what you fine in nature. So not really tech. Golem suit and Charrzooka are racial skills so they dont apply.

Next weapon for the ranger needs to be the spear or staff. Lb needs to be reworked to resemble a sniping weapon. Lb is the worst weapon in the game, worse than necro axe

Harpoon guns don’t need to use gun powder to be technology. They’re clearly tech.
Racial skills so do apply if the argument is rangers abhor technology, there would be no asura or charr rangers, and since that isn’t the case, that argument doesn’t work.

Mechanical = technology. Therefore the argument is moot.
Though speaking of definitions, they changed the definition of rangers on the wiki.
Now they’re “proficient” with the bow but surgical with the sword…
Rangers can use 11 weapons
Warriors can use 14 weapons
Elementalists can use 6 weapons
Mesmers can use 10 weapons
Guardians can use 11 weapons
Thief can use 8 weapons
What they need to do is bring the numbers up so they’re even with the warrior.
Except for the elementalist since they technically have the most weapons given the attunements.

I don’t know, the only known living Ranger; “The Indian” were very adept at using a Rifle. <grins>
