Guild Wars 2

It’s no secret that rangers are bad, i dont mean that because i dislike them. I came into this game, first class was a ranger. Every day when i log on i’m tempted to hit ranger but i dont because the only viable ranger builds are reeaally boring or just suck.

Why cant Anet just work on a power-ranger spec? It’s obvious that they want us to run a condi spec with the wilderness survival tree being as strong as it is and the crit/crit dmg tree being for traps (wut) But i dont see how instead of trying to push us all into condi why they cant just fix up some Power builds and we can use those? I sPvP alot and i’m sick of seeing the only rangers be surrounded by spirits and their base dps comes from spamming 1. I play everything, 8 level 80’s each with a few different specs I run. Ranger has always been my choice in games from morrowind/oblivion to Tera/Lineage2 and rangers have never been this absolutely boring!

Engi=kits
Ele=attunements
Thief=mobility/stealth
mesmer=deceit
guardian=support
warrior=good mix of everything
necro=DoT’s/life transfer
Ranger= bad ranged dps

The sole fact that rifle warrior can out DPS rangers Longbow and still have as much if not More survivability.

PS; i know “qq” threads about ranger are all too common and Anet seems to just “not care” but lately it appears they’ve been alot more responsive on the forums and trying to get a response never hurts.

Best guess? Because they have no direction, goal, or idea what they want this class to do in this game. It’s pretty clear they threw this class together in a hurry given what a mess our traits are in, how awful our skills are, and how this class doesn’t actually do anything meaningful and what little it is capable of doing, it does it in the most boring and repetetive way possible.

For some reason most prefer to use the blind faith approach to discussing this class which is probably a major reason nothing ever gets accomplished.

And according to the devs (will link to post in edit) that mess is so messy that they can’t be asked to fix it…
