PvE (Dungeons,Fractal,Etc): Not need. I never like rangers on my team. (More ppls said: Ranger good on fractal high level at Maw(Last map) , because pet is can revive, when Agony kill your team <- [You can other plan, so not need ranger])
So Dungeons, whats the problem? The rangers spells in 80% use pets, but the pets r useless everywhere, because (1 Hit and Die <- PvE Mobs) So you can use 20% spells, but traps useless in dungeons.

WvW: You can escape. NO BLOCK SPELL You can 1x heal and you are dead. -> (Mesmer heal every 20s, and ranger heal? This is alone defense spell)
Use Spirits? Spirits are dead very fast then your pets.

So the big problems: no blocks,not many break stun(look other
orders) spell, 0 useful spell, your pet dead 1 hit on dungeons..etc!

I want to argue with you, because I have a feeling there’s wrong information there, but honestly, I don’t know where.

you are correct we dont have many stun breakers. and we do have our fair share of issues. but i can tell you that i am an extremely viable part of my skirmish team. and offer a ton of healing/regen/boons/condition removal and soft CC’s

just have to set em up!

1) Spirits health has been buffed by 25% once and then by 60% AND THEN they buffed them further by combining two spirit traits and making it one adept trait. Spirits are fixed in terms of living long enough for buffs. I use them in FOTM 48 on krait, mobs in Ascalon city, and anywhere else there isn’t massive aoe (I switch to signets during AoE heavy parts). You can argue for better spirits like Jin does but you can’t sit here and tell me they instantly die all the time. That’s bollocks.

2) “80% spells in pets” not even close dude, wayyyy off

3) COMPLAINING ABOUT RANGER HEALING???? Are you serious? Ranger has the best heals in the game dude! What the hell???

4) WvW no escape – I outrun entire zergs with greatsword, shared anguish, empathic bond, and healing spring as well as soft landing, if I want. Ranger is likely the most sliperry of all classes, again everyone agrees with this and it shows your lack of knowledge.

So tell me: How u can use your pet in Fractal Fire Shaman, or Arah Lupicaa, or Other bosses, when your pet can instant dead? What ru doing in dungeons? more time use your bow, because range attack sometimes better, but warrior gun much better then ranger bows so why im goin bows if gun better, or why im goin gs if other order better for this?
Not even close for spells – Okay.
Ok, yout not dead wvw, but if you goin push -> zerg vs zerg fight, u cant alive, with your 1 heal, and if u stay back line, just do aoe, and range hits many times dead, because many player push backline, and rangers easy kills, i know i did it, and they cant nothing vs this push.
I enough than ranger need very hard skill you have true for this, but u can look the players 70% not like the rangers on dungeons, fractals. But my best of problem the pet who dead on dungeons and every place, so very useless, and u cant nothing for this.
And D/D ele best of healer.

Warrior rifle isn’t better than ranger SB. Good ranger can keep his pet alive in all dungs. And what Chopps said

Well if my calculations are correct, a true/full zerker ranger can hit an average of 1.5k damage per shortbow auto attack. Each auto attack has a .5 second cast time. So that’s 3k damage per second. Add in piercing arrows trait and you are doing 3k – 9k+ of damage per second. That’s not including damage from your pets when they are alive….which is extremely easy to do with ranged pets or the slew of conditions you can lay down via utilities and sigils on your weapons..

The Original Poster … like most people, has probably just witnessed too many Ranger players who couldn’t overcome their own bad Design and Handicaps. It’s just that simple I think.

I have the same prejudice against Bronies/Reddit. Their quality of art & logic & humor (& Gaming Skills) in general that is presented most often just falls flat compared to so many other more developed sub genres ranging from horror to heavy metal (the zine artists, not the music .. which obviously inspired Anet Artists as well!) to … well.. even 4chan sadly. It’s not really their fault, they’re just drawing from a “Well” that is too Narrow and still in the Prototyping stage after years of effort.

i asked what they do better then other classes you say dps then you say “Not the highest, but definitely higher than some classes” aka they bring nothing that someone else cant do better

i know its the cool thing to pretend that all zerker warriors spend half their game time on the floor and that because you are some special snowflake that you wont when playing a kittentier class with full zerker , but its sadly not true

Ranger’s only purposes: Soloing Mossman, and using [Entangle] on the Flame Shaman bubble.

Not sure what they can do others can’t do better in FoTM. 1800 Range longbow? Not very useful though… Maybe they can suck up Old Tom projectiles with a bear, but I don’t see why it’s worth sacrificing DPS.

Play what’s fun to you, end if story. Some people click with Ranger and do great, while others may just be looking for the “best” Profession, for better or worse. Often a player will do better with a Profession he/she enjoys playing rather than with the supposedly most powerful class/build combo.

And about those who wouldn’t pick your Ranger for being “a liability”you are better off without that kind of playstyle mentality. Consider yourself lucky to have avoided a narrow-minded, “efficiency is all that matters” team.

Besides, I am 100% certain many Ranger lovers play their class effectively and efficiently, despite the naysayers and the Profession’s purported weaknesses.
