Is it because all the other elite specs are so powerful?

I’m using my same tank condi bunker build except swapping out Beastmastery for Druid traitline, and I survived way better with my old build.

Druid lacks significantly more damage with staff, the entire kit was based around 1 thing and 1 thing only. Don’t expect to do near as much dmg to keep your sustain up. Aside from that, healing scales extremely poorly. (<5% on most skills for healing power)

Don’t know why you would remove bm resounding timber alone is worth it.

In order to properly understand the big picture,
everyone should fear becoming mentally clouded and obsessed with one small section of truth.

it is a hard choice… but nature magic and wildnerss survival are both better traitlines than BM

Druid <> Tank

One thing you can do really good is group heal and that’s what it’s made for. Seriously go in the Raid and you’ll see how freaking much heal output you have. No other class can keep up with that.

Because healers are normally squishy? When you trait into druid, you’re not traiting into something selfish.

If you are talking about PvP/WvW…. the answer is simple – lack of viable stability….
Outside of SoTP… you are pretty much a sitting duck… its easy to get stunlocked into oblivion once SoTP is on CD and you already used lightning reflex…

Its somewhat tanky. The biggest problem is lack of stability if you’re not using SotP. When you’re CCed as a druid, you lose momentum in charging up your astral energy.

I was never squishie on my Druid. But I ran a full heal / toughness build in spvp. And all clerics in WvW.

I was traited for my pet for the most part to be able to taunt, heal, and other tidbits.

I could take on 3 players attacks if I kept myself moving. It helped to have different utility than the glpyhs for that to happen. (IE – lightning reflexes)

But yes, no really damages. But my pet was a beast. It was nice for My “Sir Pickles” to see his day in the sun. His AI is still a bit wonky of course but he’s strong and helps me a ton! xD

The only time I found myself squishy was when I was getting focused down by more than two people or stunned/immob. I dropped like a rock then. But 1v1 or even 1v2, I could keep myself alive fairly well.

Also that raid healing is ridiculous. At one point during one of the mini bosses last night I was the only one left alive in the raid group.

The healing is fantastic. I really hope it doesn’t get nerfed any. People don’t know how to deal with it yet but I can tell them this. Stuns and knockdowns we’re gone. It’s not impossible to kill a Druid just can’t be done by mashing keys mindlessly.

Lack of defensive abilities, active defense is a lot better then tanking the damage then healing in this game.

BM is also our best line, the blind, weakness and Taunt by itself is better at keeping you alive then all the druids healing and on top of that it really buffs up the pet, particularly its damage which can apply presure to the person you are fighting which will in turn reduce what they are doing to you as they will have to start focusing on keeping themselves alive while attacking you.

partially because all the other specs are much more powerful, other part is that druid doesn’t do much in terms of defense. Furthmore, Ranger has access to no real burst options so the amount of burst coming from other classes just increases this issue.

I believe the problem is that even with condition damage reduction grandmaster i was still getting major burst down. Also that life steal necro aura is deadly. No way to avoid that. SoS just buggy mess right now as well.

Irenio is talking about reducing base heals and increasing the healing power ratio. Honestly, he should just up the ratio without messing with the base heal too much, because it needs to be viable with a DPS build or it won’t be useful for most of the game. Also, stability on f5 and a better auto attack (something that you can actually hit with reliably) would be nice.
