Just a quick question for the devs. I find the Druid specialization interesting so far and it has a lot of potential. But why have both celestial form & pet? This seems kinda counterintuitive. Like we have to focus on healing the party and micromanaging the pet? I know there’s the issue with all the pet traits but surely they could have worked that into celestial or something else?

While I wouldn’t mind a spec that can result in us not having a pet, the new pets are the only good thing about this reveal so I’m fine with keeping them for druid.

There is never going to be a spec without pets. They are 100% ingrained into everything the Ranger does. Weapon skills. Utilities. Traits.

Healing the party means healing your pet as well. They go hand in hand, its not counterintuitive at all.

Where do we draw the line then between Ranger and Druid? Let Ranger be the pet guys and Druid the healers with a spirit form. Nothing wrong in having to spec Ranger if I want to use the new pets.

If the druid didn’t have a pet we couldn’t be druids with dinosaurs and wyverns at our side.

I think that explains everything.

Because it’s just a trait line and not an entire class?

This is correct. It would require A TON of work to make it so Rangers could go without their pets. So much that it would pretty much be another Profession.

Maybe it’s just me, but I would love it if going into Celestial Form, our pets enter this form as well or receive a buff of some sort. Maybe something oriented with it like when a pet attacks, they heal allies near them, maybe even gain healing power, or something like that.

Make the pets more involved with the Druid spec in a unique way while playing more into this healing oriented support spec.

It’s a valid point imo. They’ve given ranger an additional mechanic rather than replacing the old one.
