Q:
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Q:
I’m elated for the new expansion, but, why no love shown to the Ranger. In HoT we have specializations for Warrior(Berserker), Guardian(Dragonhunter), Elementalist(Tempest), Necromancer(Reaper), Mesmer(Chronomancer), The new Revenant class(Herald) and the Thief specialization they will announce later this week. WHY THE HATE ON RANGERS!!!!!
A:
Rangers are getting the option to become a Druid and wield a staff. There haven’t been many details other than that, but they are getting some love.
They also haven’t released information about the Engineer’s new Specialization. Patience.
Hmmm I fail to see your point, engi hasn’t been announced at all, we already know that ranger is getting staff and is going to be called druid.

The point is evident it’s about no specializations mentioned for the Ranger.

Ok then, TY, I never heard the Druid thing musta missed it somewhere, but, BAH to a ranger wielding a staff.

Colin mentioned it last Saturday.

Sorry I must have missed that. Where exactly did he mention this?
Actually the Druid was the first specialization mentioned, back when they first revealed specializations. They didn’t give much details, just that rangers Spec was Druid, getting a staff, and being more support based.
So when I first looked at your post I was thinking you where a big troll...

TY, I wonder why ANET doesn’t send twitch stream notices to its customers, I get notices from TRION every week for Rift, Trove and Archeage Twitch streams.
This is probably the first time they mentioned the Druid:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/watch-the-replay-of-our-live-expansion-announcement-at-pax-south/ (January 2015)
At that time, they released the former Heart of Thorns website, which mentioned the Druid. It has since been updated. http://heartofthorns.guildwars2.com/en-gb/game/specializations
There have been countless threads and posts about the Ranger/Druid.
Happy reading/watching.
Gasp! A druid with a staff.
Still looks like ranger hate to me.

Yeah because a Ranger/Woodsman DOES NOT and HAS NOT ever wielded a staff.
You never know… rangers just might be the best freaking elite released.
Ranger not announced yet because it is perfect, and requires the least CBT

The Ranger class is evenly divided up in archer/beastmaster/barbarian/druid so this is hardly out of character. They already have nature magic and spirits.
It’s unconventional if you approach the class from a WoW hunter style perspective. While this, admittedly, is what the class most looks like at first druidism has been a thing since GW1.
You know what…they should rename the Rangers spec to Patience. It’d be perfect.

3 years of patience not enough huh?
Rename it to what now? I think you mean delete it.
Now my problem is which Legendary weapons to get Staff or Longbow or shortbow..
There is a theory that rangers are last because they needed the most help. The elites were revealed in the order listed on the old profession page (original eight) except ranger was number 4 and skipped. All the other reveals were in the same order.
That’s might be wishful thinking and it’s just last because it was the first shown in the PAX trailer, but we’ll see.
Mordremoth is a Ranger. In HoT, we get to decide if we want to join him and unleash our woody hate on the rest of the community. In PvP, you need to type “Serve Mordremoth!” into map chat when you stomp someone.

I keep hearing this, but there really is no proof of it.
Like you said, the only thing we know is that they seem to have kept to the order of the reveals in the same order as the professions are listed on this page: http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/ except they skipped Ranger and left it for last. The chances of it being a coincidence are as good as 0.
However, we do not know the reason for it. It could simply be because druids are the most revelant to the lore of the maguuma jungle or a bunch of other reasons.

They probably had to go through many iterations of it. I suspect (and hope) that ranger will be more changed by druid than the other professions are by their elite specializations; they certainly need it the most.
I know every thread is complaint after complaint of pure speculation people really need to be more patient.

If Druid is good, everyone will say Ranger is brain dead easy to play… 111111111 noob ranger. If Driud is underpowered and weak, everyone will say Ranger players are the worst in the community and can’t win a fight. No matter how it pans out, we’ll get no love
