Why no stunbreak on traps

No, they could easily give one of the lesser used traps a stun break if they wanted to do so.
and can u explain how it should work?
stunbreak while u r stunned and set down or u set down a trap and when someone activates the trap u get a stunbreak?
i think both cant work well
But what could help is making LR a real stunbreak, ever noticed that LR get a short interrupt on CC too? Thats annoying
but it would not be OP if a pure trapper could have one stunbreak, the problem is we need to exchange a trap for it

The skill remains useable when stunned, when you activate the trap to lay it down the stun is broken. Pretty simple.
okay that means a stun break skill with 1/2s cast time or a trap without cast time
both can not work well pvp or balance wise

No it doesn’t. I said that the stun break occurs at the beginning of the laying of the trap, ergo the skill is activated and the stun is broken and the character then proceeds to lay the trap.

Yes, just like this. The stun break happens immediatly, and then the skill will activate in 0,5 seconds.
I just never felt the damage was ever worth it to take them. Maybe if they just buff some trap damage and un-nerf sipke trap cd it would be a better trade off, but until then they will be most useful trolling in WvW.
thieves have a stunbreak trap. just sayin.
i’d rather it work immediatly on drop though.
and you already know it would go on frost trap, because too strong for the other traps barring a cd change.

When anet gives a class stunbreak, they compare the whole class vs. how many stunbreaks in utilities the class should have. Sadly, rangers don’t have enough stunbreaks to be put on trap, but then it’s not ranger’s specific. Glamour mes doesnt have stunbreaks, venom thief doesn’t have stunbreaks, corruption nec doesn’t have stunbreaks, and so on.

The thief stunbreak is only usable when its laid down. Therefore I’d suggest the next:
Ice trap:
Lay down a trap.
If not triggered :
Break stun and gain frost aura. Trap is destroyed.
If triggered:
Gain the option to teleport to the trap placing a chilling fields and creating an ice blast (similar to ele dagger 3). Breaks stun.
This would give the player also frost aura, being defensiv, and punishing enemies while you recover from your lockdown.
Only thing is they have to give it fancy animation
