If rangers don’t want the stealth, we thieves will gladly take it. We’ll take it on dancing daggers or what have you.

Its not the shot anyone really complains about. People can’t see past the shot…but Longbow is still a fairly poor weapon. Its damage is fairly low and the burst is so easy to avoid so killing anyone with it a chore.

Short bow is awesome. I suppose you could use 2 bows if you wanted….

Heck a warrior with a bow is a tougher opponent than a Ranger using a longbow.

Rapid fire being your only decent damage source. Its easy to avoid…if your planning to auto shoot someone to death with a longbow…..>.<

It’s a clunky mechanic.
It came at a DPS loss for one of the worst weapon options in the game (pistol/pistol is worse, don’t worry).
It wasn’t enough or what people have been complaining about for 9 months.

Chopps is a pve hero i am guessing. I’ve been massacred every longbow nub i have met. Keep using them by all means its a free kill.

And I don’t even wvw, bro. I play A LOT. I am a PvE hero—Dungeon master and high level fractals player with a bank full of ranger armor and weapons (all bank slots unlocked, bank 100% full with stuff, ranger only). I’m also a deer in tpvp and was on a team that placed 2nd in the SOAC Amatuer Profession tournament.

LB is situational, great in zerg v zerg fare when getting in close is dumb or keep defense, when again, getting close to anything isn’t smart with our HP/Tough/Vit. In small groups I have always found the LB to be lacking or in 1v1 situations. It is what it is, I don’t think any of these changes make too much of a difference with this regard except we now have a potential escape mechanism in stealth at the cost of stacking vulnerability easily.

I assumed you didn’t use Longbow since you seem to dislike it, which leads to my next question. Why do you bother cursing the Longbow when you do not use it? I main the longbow since beta, and I still use it. I don’t like Shortbow because I see it more as a spam of ones, stacking on condition (also the sight of the BOTS that used to run around the game had an impact on my perspective of it as well). If you do not use it, leave it alone so people who enjoys, not the killing, but the playstyle to do what they want with it.

Yes, I agree SB > LB. I always knew that. I also believe that Condition > Crit too. Got struck by 11k bleeding by 1 necro the other day. If you hate the LB, leave it alone for others who enjoys it to use it. Don’t have to trash them.

It’s simple: it’s a nerf to pve. Not everyone pvps. For pve, stealth on a longbow is all but useless. For pve, we’re not working twice as hard and sacrificing a very valuable trait to get the same result the old Hunter’s Shot gave us.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a bow.
