Worth putting ANY trait points- Beastmastery?
Yea, It’s definitely viable and works very well with a lot of melee builds, but I can understand your frustration. It took me a good while to warm up to this talent tree and I really didn’t see what other people liked in it so much.
Don’t matter where I put my trait points, nothing seems to make any difference to anything.

5points gets you 2seconds of quickness every 20 seconds
15points gets you 2sec every 18

5 points for such regular quickness is very competitive on the Ranger talent tree – even operating under the assumption that the stat points in pet and healing are completely ineffective, it’s still a very competitive option.
5 points is almost mandatory
its a 10% damage increase for all times, and even works to kill downed players or revive faster.

I second this. I lost count of how many times I saved an entire group in a dungeon by quick-ressing a downed party member.
The quickness is also pretty amazing with the Greatsword. Against enemies with slow attacks, the auto-attack evade pretty much makes you invulnerable.

I know some will disagree. But I will agree with this because no matter how many different setups I try, I’m always left with a feeling of emptiness inside. Like, it made a difference, but I feel like there’s a huge lack of synergy. Every build feels odd, like we’re forcing broken things to try and work together.
