WvW Pet Health Nerf??

I did notice that my pet is suddenly dying really, really quickly in SPVP. Either everyone keeps focusing my bird or something has changed.

No, I’m saying my wolf had 22K, but now has only 15K health and my drake had 36K, but now has only 23K. When I’m in Lion’s Arch the numbers are like they’ve always been.
That’s because Pet’s received a 75% health buff for PvE some time ago (last featurepatch?), but this health buff does not apply to WvW and PvP. =)

Exactly, it was in the October 15th update, almost 1 year ago.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Today, my drake has 13K less health and my wolf has 7K less than yesterday – only in WvW. Anybody else notice this?
Pets have 74.8% more HP in PvE then in WvW and PvP. This is probably why it seemed like it had less health.

Never understood why the health buff doesn’t apply in WvW too
That’d be my fault, Yellow. Back when “Guard” had an actual use (pet scaling walls), I got together a group of friends on TeamSpeak and we all rolled Beastmaster Rangers. We roamed from siege to siege with cat pets and all utilities revolving around sending in pet missiles. We’d down person after person with our stealthy cats kitten would jump on whatever target we called.
Some people would run and we’d laugh as we saw damage numbers through the wall as we guessed how far they were getting by where the numbers showed … but they’d die.
People didn’t like being chased down by our pets … people would complain even more if our pets had more HP … as they’d die to attacks instead of stray mass AOE :-p

This is two years away though. You can’t do that now, and if you indeed could, I see nothing wrong with stackable pet classes using their pets to kill someone in many vs 1. Pets are part of the ranger, they are not something extra that we should be glad to have.
Although I’m not complaining, in small scale fights, pets serve their purpose in WvW, if you know what you’re doing, and I could not care less for zergs. If you could try ballance pets to be effective in zergs, cats should end up with 300k health and 3k aoe AA… lol

See pet damage and leash range nerf (the latter hilariously called as a buff in the patch notes at the time).
