No, sounds like the Regen Ranger build. Incredible survival in that one.

Multiple pets out at the same time is not possible. Possibly what you are referring to is the human elite skill hounds of balthazar. That would technically make it look like you summoned 3 dogs. I can’t help with the build honestly since I barely ever play my ranger anymore but I’d wager some tanky regen build.

You’re right that f2 skill completely slipped my mind. Like i said I haven’t been on my ranger in ages. I guess the OP’s description felt more like hounds of balthazar than the Hyena f2

They are the same thing. You can be a ranger using one of the regen GM’s (“a Regen Ranger”) and still build for condi damage. Condi damage is only assumed because this is a 1v1.
OP: There are really only 2 popular dueling specs for rangers at the moment
x/x/30/x/30 – Beast master regen
x/x/30/30/x – Nature’s voice regen
If you are having trouble beating a ranger as a mesmer or warrior, slot perplexity runes. The classes you play have enough interrupts to keep 5-10 stacks of confusion up near permanantly. The downside is, everytime you win with perplexity everyone will know its because of the runes and not because you played well.
