Judging from your playstyle, I can tell that you could throw Trapper runes out and get Kraits.

You put all of yours traps down and sit in revealed, missing on stealth.

That’s crazy, I just watched a video of yours last night by accident and thought to myself, “kitten he is a kitten”. Anyhow, great vids and awesome build man. I hope your channel gets some love. I’ll sub or sure.

I find it funny that so many Ranger run the exact same LB/GS zerk and/or Knights build meanwhile trapper is far more fun, engaging and effective. I’ve been a trapper for 6+ months, long before the runes came out and I’ve never looked back. Melee trapper Ranger is hands down the most fun way to play a Ranger and it hits like an absolute train to boot. I’m currently using all Rabid with Dire armor and Trapper runes, sometimes all Rabid with Apothecary armor and Dwayna runes but I’ve been thinking about rolling Celestial lately. I may have to craft a build after watching this video because it seems quite effective and I’ve fought a handfull of Celestial Rangers as well that were quite tough.

Anyway, good video. You and I use almost an identical set up although I use Sword/Warhorn and Axe/Dagger instead and sometimes I take RaO instead of Entangle or Frost Trap instead of Viper’s Nest but it varies depending on what I’m doing.

I main a tief, but im about two seconds away from leveling a ranger to do this. traps are so much fun, loved em in gw1. been trying thief trapper, surprisingly effective vs 1 person

Cele trapper works great with LB too, instead of using a tuning crystal just use a sharpening stone. (And slot in some condi sigils, like earth + torment)

Could you speak about your build choices?
why are u running cele on power longbow build?
and you on the earlier vids you posted a condi build with survival skills where you are using power enhancing sigils on the weapons and cele gear, so I’d like to know why..

I use the cele gear (only amor) for a bit more defense. I know that is not an optimal choice but my gold is limited
For me it´s better if you ask your questions in the comments of my tube vids.
I´m not very often here in this forum. Sometimes I´m playing a power focused hybrid build. That´s the reason for choosing the power enhancing sigils.

yeah. This Hammer/GS Warri kicked my kitten
Strong build and in my opinion a very good played warrior.
We only had this 3 fights and I think with a bit more training I´m able beat him.
But I´m not used in doing duells.

Why do u use hel as one? it seems u over heal by alot when u use hheal as one and it triggers the rune(6) bonus. Why not TU? On the same note, dont you feel GS 4 screws your defender(6) timing? it was hard for to follow in the video?

Its a small change but the 70 toughness will do more for you than the 70 vitality.
If u also use furious sharpening stone, your toughness will jump to 2500+.

HaO also triggers the aegis 5s more frequently than TU. Counterstrike is amazing with Defender Runes as you can block unlimited amounts of attacks outside 130 range and get 2s of regen for each (the rune is 2s, not 1s per block) Mango Pies are vastly cheaper and 70 vit is also as good as 70 toughness really.

I really love the Defender Runes, they are just fantastic on a ranger imo.

The regen from the runes and Guard/Nature’s Voice is also another reason to go with HaO, you already have heal over time so a burst is nice too.

1.HaO the benefit of the aegis 5s more frequently is very small its – 1 extra aegis every 5 heal rotations with HaO , most fights will end much sooner

2. The regen uptime from shout is 100%, the benefit from regen on block is very small, missing 4k heal on 30 sec cd cus u wanted to block somthnig but didnt need to heal is a big deal…

3. the defender(6) bonus is exacly the burst heal that goes with TU(4k burst and 9k overtime – smaller chance to over heal)

4. under 2600 armor 70 toughness>> 70 vitality by alot, is it value for money? its up to you to decide, In MinMax prespective its the better food(costs more for a reason…).

I’m just trying to explain why Wizzo may chosen those skills.

1. That’s the only reason I can think of why you would use HaO over TU.

2. Getting a 4k heal from a block when you needed a 4k heal but didn’t want to use your heal skill is also a big deal. Now you still have your heal skill and the Aegis. The timing doesn’t need to happen the same everytime. And the additional regen from the runes is not a small thing, especially when mesmers/necros/boon stripping or your shout (with its cast time) gets rupted, as well as every block gives your pet 6.5s of regen (that build).

3. Just because you used the heal skill, doesn’t mean you will then get the heal from the block, you may not be attacked to use up the Aegis. It is only 5s base.

4. To buy the mats to craft the Cactus Soup on the TP costs 77s per, Mango Pies are less than 2s. No brainer for me, the 70 tough vs 70 vit plays no part in my mind. Although you are right, strictly speaking, the toughness is better, assuming you have guard stacks of vit already. But for 30x the money? No thanks.

sorry for the late responding. Wasn´t a lot at home the last days.
Yepp Nubu, poison is the reason.

Choice of food: 100% reason is money. Mango Pie is a lot cheaper as the alternative food. (and I´m very, very poor)

Build is just a test. I´m sure I have to tweak the build. Maybe other traits… or change some rings or stuff.

Should be an even better build when the patch hits, not having to waste a slot on “Guard” yet still have “HaO”, “Sic Em”, LR, SoTW, “RaO”. Some nice extra traits to pick up too.
