Well to be honest the signet one was across the board, which is rather kind of insulting for rangers/thiefs. But all in all, at least it was something positive, along with the rest of the stuff.

The 25% was a QoL improvement. I don’t see why a Necromancer can’t call upon magic to move quicker… It’s friggin’ magic. I don’t consider it insulting. It’s more like “thank bullocks that I don’t have to carry around a warhorn for a meaningful speed buff.”
Oh OBSTRUCTED all OBSTRUCTED in OBSTRUCTED all OBSTRUCTED it OBSTRUCTED was OBSTRUCTED an OBSTRUCTED ok OBSTRUCTED patch…. but seriously…. faster arrows just yields more “obstructed” nor the “out of range” while in melee range sadly…
oh and btw… OBSTRUCTED!

I get them every so often, usually when my grouping is mobbing a single enemy or when I attack inanimate objects. Other than these two cases, I don’t really get this problem.
This patch made me want to play my ranger again. It’s amazing what a constant 25% speed buff can do to make a character more fun.

If something is strafing in you can get obstructed on most of your shots.

How many people actually strafe like in a certain video posted here though? I’ve never seen it. Especially in the massive zergfest that is WvW most of the time.
I have hardly had a hard time with my ranger and with this build love playing him even more. X3

Miss, block, obstruction, target switch to pet all happen even more often now in WVW than before the patch as most classes are no w moving faster than before. And to add to the fun they now get so much closer to you while you are rooted to the spot casting barrage- then most of them aren’t affected by it so are still out of combat while you are in it, so you are now as good as dead.
Bring back proper aoe skills- limiting them to 5 makes them nigh on useless and encourage people to bunch up and zerg.
Seems a lot of the combo fields (you can test this yourself with a spider pet) increases the “obstructed” on a stationary mob hitting your face in melee…
Was cool…until i realised my pet’s “Lick wounds” didn’t actually work.
Also, since when did pets stop attacking invisible mobs/enemies? (this was something touted as a benefit of having a pet/anti-thief use)
They still never undid the damage they did to shortbow crossfire, but lots of stuff in here is actually quite nice and favorable. A little blessing here and a little blessing there—it’s comforting to see things going in a good direction.
I have to agree with yeh. This is the most I’ve enjoyed my ranger, which is also my main so it’s really nice. Anet did well this time. I think so anyway.
This patch is sort of neutral for me.
Positives
- Opening strike finally works properly. This is huge for longbow users.
- 25% movement speed for Signet of the Hunt.
- Nature’s Protection triggers a lot now.
- Melee pets seem to definitely hit a lot more now.
Negatives
- Arrow flight speed increase barely improved our hit rate. It’s the tracking that is kittened and needs fixing.
- Sword “rooting” is still a massive issue and seems to be intended. I have fallen off cliffs because I use the 3rd autoattack(Pounce) at someone and he dodges out of the way with me falling off the cliff….
- Rangers still lack a trump card to turn a fight around.
